  you need a copy of Halflife 1 not 2

  well theoretically you can use CZ.
  but i cant guarantee anything
  
  you need an HL1 engine to run a mod.
  i think CZ has the HL engine delivered with the retail cd.
  but i havent tried it.
  HL1 is what 10 euros not even that?
  just go buy a copy...

  If you can play the half-life 1 single player game then you can play NS. Simple as that.
  
  It's the opposite for CS though. If you want to play CS you'd need to have either one of the older games that includes cs(game of the year etc) or buy it for 10 bucks through steam. My friend had to get CS separately because of that.

  holy mother of facepunchstudio's dumb rating(which was remove)!!!
  Counter Strike Source is basicly, PURELY on an entirely differnt source engine, NS1 isnt like that, it feeds ONLY off of Half-life1's engine
