I'm planning on starting an FPS gaming community with various FPS game servers and maintain it by offering admin monthly subscription. I am planning on opening a NS server and since I've seen there is a really bad ###### lack of servers I was wondering if anyone was interested in something like this. I just want to know if someone will actually want to support it, you know, get in server, advertise and get admin if wanted. Probably making NS maps servers as that is what most people would like from what I've seen. I was registered on the old forums... just so you know, but you know about NS forum loss before.

    What games are you aiming for? And you do know you better be prepared to dish out a lot of money for a few months until the player base builds up and donations start kicking in.

    lol very true. Besides that I really dont see why people play on admin donate servers, so many childish tards that abuse admin and just frankly... well kill the servers

    Counter-Strike: Source, Natural-Selection, F.E.A.R., Day of Defeat: Source, etc. And yes, we are thinking on putting the money if needed first, but we're also trying to look for some pre support. And it's not like we will have hundreads admins on each server. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

    You seem pretty confident that somehow, some magical force is going to block idiots from donating to the server and becoming admins, because somehow, if some idiot DOES donate, you'll either have to let him screw around or take away his admin, and then you've got someone who has given you money but lost their admin status, and now nobody wants to donate.

    true, better write up a terms of service agreement or whatever lol. And only take away admin status from tards that abuse by proof of demo or repeated logs that frankly show outright abuse.

    Personally if I had money to throw away.. id grief some admin servers lol

    Yup, i pay for everything on my gaming community by myself, and despite the fact that im strapped for cash and im not making any income from anything (so far) i will not sell admin on the community servers (except for one, that's specifically set up for that, the mod is Day of Defeat).

    I guess that's more principled in a way but it's still heniously misguided. Anything that's not healthy and self-sustaining without substantial sacrifices on the part of whoever's in charge really isn't a stable community.

    A few years ago, some people helped pay for a server, that sort of helped things.

    Problem i face though is lots of the people either dont have any money to donate or they're too young and can't pay.
