sorry - forgot to take more screenshots after I got mezmorised by the game again. Here's what I did take (I tried to get one of each of the guns I had on me - I have an SVD but it's stashed right now, I'll get a pic tomorrow)

Sorry about the first image - I didn't think it really gave away much. I already knew about psi effects before playing the game and describing them doesn't do them justice anyway so I figured no one would care. I'll just stick to posting pics of "generic" looking places with guns <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I buy ammo by the boatload and just stash it in the Duty base. I'm still at like 200K but that's one way to burn money.
A wonderful display of Gameplay>Graphics. This game has something no other single player game has had in 10 years; an Immerson and an AI like never before experienced.
yea the combat AI is quite good. I love that enemies don't actually track you through walls, they see you and then shoot you, if you flank them by sneaking round an object or building (and they don't see you move in that direction) they'll still be looking around where they last saw you.
The scripted elements are a bit glitched but I'm more interested in killing stalkers anyway.

Please note that Saved games from previous versions will NOT work with the patch. You will need to make sure that hidden folders are visible on the view tab of the folder options menu.
Why the hell would they release a patch that breaks previously-made saves? That's retarded.
Does it actually refuse to open the save files from the older version? Or are they just saying that to cover their butt in the case of something bugging out when using an old save. Can anyone confirm?
God, I've just spent the last couple hours fighting off a dozen military guys from the safety of a bathroom using only a knife, my pistol, and the occaisonal rifle rounds that I can manage to pick off the bodies that fall in the doorway.
And now I realized I was at the wrong part of the research facility, and need to go to a different place.
On a worrying note: The patch notes are atrocious. there are at least 3 or 4 items that are listed 2 times in the notes, no mention of fixing bleeding, and it ends with: <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->66. kinda depressing that they released patch notes like that...
hopefully things like the bleed bug are covered under "Various other issues". either way, I like my saved games, so I am not going to bother with this.

I am with you on that Lolf. The game is really interesting, and the AI is great. But everything else seems to be half arsed.
btw, <b>TheSavior</b>, I was getting a problem like that one (my entire screen would turn that HORRIBLE yellow at specific points). Everything was fixed by dropping the texture resoloution down 1 notch (not clue why).
I managed to get a shotty early on by dropping the allies you get when doing the first assault. When everything was finished they just sat around the fire and I shot em in the back of their heads, one at a time. None cared unless I did it in plain sight and my status didn't drop with any other stalkers. This cant be right? Or is it a try to break away from all knowing status changes <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
It's difficulty to kill anything unless their pretty close up, but on the other hand there is plenty of ammo. However im just at the first zone.
I feel that there is little feeling to the setting your in, I dunno, it just feels plain.

The world does get more interesting as you progress through it.
As for reputation: Well, if no one knows you did it, how can your reputation change?
Admittedly I think they designed it to be forgiving as it is rather easy to accidentally kill an ally in a fire fight, so long as you don't kill major characters people don't mind all that much.
Admittedly the reason why I killed the first group of people was that I was clicking through the dialog and knifed him in the chest <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Having the sawed off made that encounter much easier.
However I do have an interesting tale of people having strange reactions to your acts of hostility: The first mission the information dealer in 100rads gives you is to kill one of the stalkers in an exoframe, when you find him he is neutral and there are 3-4 other neutrals camping nearby (including another guy or 2 in exoframes I think).
Take 1: I walked up behind my target and shove my knife into his spine, promptly all of the other guys opened fire on me (I was expecting this, but I ended up dieing any way).
Take 2: Knife the guy in a different spot and every one still jumps me, I die again (ok, so I suck)
Take 3: Same spot as take 2, only 2 of the 4 guys agro. Even after I start shooting the guys that agroed me the others stay neutral. (Die to 3 shotgun blasts to the back before I even see the last guy with an exo)
Take 4: same spot as take 2, no one agros. I walk up the hill and knife another exo guy (wanted a look at his weapon), no one agros. Walk down into the camp and knife another exo guy (again, interest in the weapon), no one agros. I think I left the 2 guys in regular suits to live.
Yah, things are strange <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
