Map.

Im big on CO maps, and most NS players are prolly gunna frown upon that, but thats my thing, i like the quickness of the game that way.

But i would like to see maps, that change every time you play then, kind of like CS_havanna where u have the whole map, but every time u play it, theres doorways blocked and u have to go a different way every time. This needs to be done with these maps too, but take it to another level.

Examples, and im being CO specific.

When u weld open a phase gate, it could go to 2 or 3 different areas of the map.

Maybe put permanent infantry portals in CO maps, used to spawn marines, but have them placed with the CC in a random room.

Breakable walls, with limits. Add a few different breakable walls in the map, but limit it so you can only break out a certain number of walls per map, then they lock and u cant break anymore.

Basicly just a bit more randomness in the maps, something that makes the gameplay different every time.

Just thought of 1 other thing.

Its been done in NS right now, but i would like to see MvM and AvA (not in NS) in NS2 as official maps. Marine vs Marine maps are fun as hell, and iv always wanted to play alien vs alien.

I like the idea of randomness, it adds more depth to a CO map. I'm just not sure how it would be possible with the current engine or the NS2 engine just because I'm not a great mapper.

I'm not sure if MvM and AvA maps will be official just because it doesn't really fit in with the NS storyline. Perhaps if there was a civil war or something like that, then it would be possible. I remember reading somewhere (wikipedia i think) that MvM and AvA would come with NS2, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Well, yeah, maps which are dynamic and slightly different from game to game is a good thing, as long as it's still intuitive. It's already done with the random hive placement between the three hive location in NS maps.

This is good for both CO and NS. By the way, do we even know if CO will be in NS2?

I dunno. From what I've gathered, it looks like there might only be one mode that's a combination of them both. I could be very wrong, however.

As for the topic of this thread, I like the idea, but I personally don't like alien vs. alien. There's several maps that already have this, and it doesn't work very well. At all.

Thats why maps would have to be specially made for MvM and AvA

Back on topic *Ahem* I like the idea of multiplayer maps having some unique variations more than hive location each game.
