<div class="IPBDescription">and why not for all other guns</div>Surely in the future when your wepaons are linked to your visor the targeting software should but able to caculate the path that a grenade will most likely travel. So why not have such a thing in NS? no more grenades bouncing back into your face or team mates.
The cross hair would consist of 5 circular targets which represent the arc of travel for the grenade which move closer and further from each other as well as get larger and smaller depending on what you are aiming at and how high/far. and The bottom 6th circle indicates were the grenade will land.
Obviously it would be done by a 2d pro so it would suit the TSA theme. I think this and other advanced or smart crosshairs would really make you feel that the soldier is connected to the weapon.
I know its a shotgun, but its the only big screenshot i could find, just imagine its a gl <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

perhaps the pistol wouldnt have a cross hair to make it feel primitive / last resort, and the lmg could have a distance read out or something .... well its not very good but its all ive got lol

The Gears of War grenade aiming system seems to be somewhat along these lines too.

QFT. Actually, I think I like the Gear of War system better since it shows your bounce pathing too. I especially like the touch of the reserve weapon diagonally mounted across the soldier's back.
Although it is the future, telling marines exactly where they're firing their shots isn't good. We don't need sniping GLs. They're designed for bombardment, and so should not always have perfect accuracy.

It's not telling exactly where there shot will land, it's just showing a rough area of which the grenade will ricochet off.
Although it shows the rough estimate of where it will land, if aiming at a wall,
I think it should show where the grenade will bounce on the wall, but I don't
believe it should be shown where it will bounce from the wall (if anyone
else was thinking that idea).
I also agree on the idea of a new-fangled targetting majig.
It would give the 'technology' aspect a bonus.
Also I agree on the LMG's range feature.
The real crosshairs would be much more detailed and slim... I think...
It's just an example made on paint HatlabuFarkas -.-

@ topic, what the hell you did in the middle of the screen?
What do you want to hide?
Cheats or what <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />
range thing is cool, but not really important, only if you say: "omg, 25m shotgun snipe!" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

not hiding nothin - normally the shotgun sits in the middle of the screen, but i had to move it to the far right to make the crosshair look right <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
plus its a screenshot off google images, our routers at work don't let steam through <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
