Does it post an exact .jpg copy of the .vtf or a smaller thumbnail?
Neat solution to commit emails.
We do a lot of small checkins though and the email spam would drive me nuts <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Gmail + labels = win!
Enjoying the frequent updates <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" />.

Agreed. Many thanks.

Meh I've heard of most of them but never thought they could be combined into a well organized system like that. Was that everybody's idea to come up with that or just a genius on your team?

Seconded. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Something that just occurred to me: Do you/are you planning to have a similar feature for models, audio or maps? Hmm, though implementing it for models and maps might be a bit difficult.

Generally unless you use these systems for everything you won't get that much benefit...
Its very common for game Dev companies to put version control on everything from models, textures, sound, code etc...
Now you could also send a second image highlighting the changes since the previous version...
Seconded. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Thirded. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Pretty neat idea.

You could always store a jpg with the same name as the map/model and have the subversion script see if both are updated in the same commit and include the jpg(s) in the email. Seems a bit clumsier, but I don't really know how else you could get there in a more automated way.
Sometimes the smallest things are overlooked but can make the biggest difference, as is with this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />.
Before the first forum switch I used to receive e-mails for all Forum Report action as well as any change in the Bug Tracking System. As J! mentioned you ultimately end up creating filters on your e-mail to pre-segregate and tag everything for you. That way its just matter of running through all of the new items when you get an opportunity.

True, and it's a 30 second job. I guess for me if I'm clicking a label in my email inbox I might as well be navigating to a trac timeline page. Still, considering that's the system the devs are using, the art preview is a really cool addition. It's always interesting to see the way other devs do things.
Thinking about it, another advantage of the email system is the ability to kick off a conversation about a checkin by simply forwarding the checkin mail to someone and adding questions/comments. That could be really useful.
Great idea makes life alot eaiser <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Just a question do you have a rough idea of when the NS2TR is going to be released, because some of us realy want scratch that itch of playing with all of NS2 new toys and making some of our own and breaking them and fixing them again.
I hope these new tweaks will help ease the frustrations in development.
