For those of you who don't know, Fortress Forever is a free HL2 mod started when TF2 wasn't even announced. They are focusing on the skill aspect of Team fortress, with concjumping, rocketjumping, bunnyhopping, primed grenades, ramp sliding and double jumping. This video shows off all these skills. Keep in mind that the animations are still being worked on

a lot of people were saying that, so just to dispell it:
anything in the video except for ramp sliding, doublejumping and the pyro air boost, you can do in tfc. a lot of the things here are very difficult to do, for example the first person view scene was done by rizzo, one of the best tfc offencive players there is

Is TFC really as awesome as people say? Seems like Quake for Valve fans, as far as movement, competition level, and player skill.

More like Team Quake. Classic. Fortress.
There's a lot of added things, like
- faster rockets
- tougher pyro (with 3 stages of flame damage, flame boost, speed)
- sniper "wallhack" thing (like dystopias tracker but for 10 seconds when you shoot someone)
- smaller grenade radius and damage
- Quake like jumping (when you hold jump in the air, you jump as soon as you land, no need for scripts)
- lots of documentation on all these skills so people will learn them quicker
they also made a lot fo the skills easier to learn, and still as hard to master, with the quake like jumping, and with concs being a lot less dependent on your ping, having a larger window for jumping, and a visual timer

you can still bhop like you normally would, it just means you don't need a script to do it
oh also there's no more "brick wall" (cap), and it's a soft cap instead, which means after a rocketjump or a conc your next few hops will be way faster before it goes down to the cap
