How come we keep having new threads that are basically just reposts of videos from the giant YouTube thread? Why do we bother with a YouTube thread if nobody reads it?
People <i>are</i> allowed to necropost if the original thread is still viable and they add something new. The only bad kind of necroposting is the "lol bump" or the 1 sentence reply to an out of date thread.

Yeah, I'd bump the "Why is thread necromancy wrong" thread but someone else should do it since I bumped it up 3-4 times already.
Also if you were wondering, that's just one example of an old thread that have been necrobumped multiple times without any lockage.
So yes, you can necrobump as long as your bumping post contains something meaningful.
