If such superficial things would make you stop playing NS, I personally don't care if you play NS or not.
And it is / will be a server-option. Don't like it? Don't play there.

As for McDonald's.. they're built to offer you a set number of choices. You don't actually go back into the kitchen and make your own burger.
Though I enjoy DOD, im not with you on this one.
It's your right if you want to make the muzzle-flair of the LMG smaller for esthetic reasons! (It doesn't matter if it also makes it easier to track targets). I'm sure that having full-bright models will completely enhance everyones viewing experience (I hear it also makes it easier to find people in the dark, but I don't know about that).
Maybe people think that the skulk should have a couple of sharp spikes on it. If it's their vision to have an alien with giant protrubances which also happen to stick through walls, it's their loss!
The game looks great, and most importantly it plays great. Don't like it? Enjoy your DOD, I wish you the best.

bah, what ever, I am all for anti cheat, if you don't like it, as every one has said, I would rather loose a few **obscenity** off ppl who can't play a game with out model changes, then having a game with spiked models (if you obviously don't know just how BIG an advantage that gives ppl, I have used them, they are amazing and will improve anyones gaming abilities 20 fold, and thats why I hate them <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->)

yes I know there are ways to get around these restrictions (I have tested most cheats to see how they work and then to see how to knowtice ppl when they are)
btw, admitting that you cheat at CS (b/c thats how your post will be read) is not a good way to continue an argument

Seriously - file size verification is a very basic and very necessary anti-cheat protection.
If you are that upset please don't play the mod - the other 99.9% of us won't miss you.
As for people using hooks and the like to bypass said verification...good thing next release NS is going to have full VAC support to give those people their nice, immediate WON-side ban to stop them from ever sullying a game I'm in ever again.
Too bad said ban doesn't come with a special ops team who comes to your house, beats you senseless for being an idiot, and breaks your computer into a million pieces; while simultaneously slapping you with a Mitnick-esque ban on using any form of computer.

I said this in the last thread about model consistency and i'll say it again: if the only thing keeping you playing is your ability to use a chicken instead of a knife, good riddance.
Edit: On another note, someone HAS to make a model of Samus in her Gravity Suit, or Varia Armor. That, or marines with Jetpacks have Samus in her gravity suit, and light marines in her BASIC suit, and heavies in her full Varia armour...oooooh.
