Phase gate prioritization

An option to assign phase gates numbers to prioritizate which phase gates will be phased prior to others.
Easily done by clicking on any phase gate, and assigning it a number.
Easily described:
Phase gate A is assigned "#1" Phase gate B is assigned "#3".
Commander assigns Phase gate A "#3". Phase gate B is now assigned "#1".
An alternative to this would be: phase gate B just lost its commander assigned priority number, and is just AI assigned, or assigned by time of construction.

Another good option would be a way to disable phasing through selected phase gates.
This will keep marines focused on the task at hand, and quicker.

I see absolutely no downside to this, this is 7 years into the future, a simple tech advancement like this won't add an extreme unbalance to the game, and will help if the commander enjoys massive expansion.

    I like this idea.

To expand on it, I envision a drop and drag solution, where there is this column of small boxes on the side of the Commander GUI, titled: PG.
    - Holding a pointer over the box with a tiny picture of a phase gate in it shows text saying where the phase gate is.
    - Left click and drag the tiny symbol or image down or up a box to set priority the cycle through route
    - Right click brings up the Recycle option
    - If attacked, the image blinks on and off red
    - If the phase gate is used, the picture flashes blue-white
    - There is a thick line at the base of the column, left click and drag up to set those phase gates and the bottom of the cycle to "off"

I hope I was able to draw a clear picture for you with words.

One of the intended drawbacks of having many phase gates is the increased time to reach a specific destination.

Why not have a maximum of... 3 phase gates.

Or, have phase gates work in pairs

so marine spawn would have 2 phase gates, A and B

each which go to say, A at subsector and B at pipe.

Don't know if actually making the tech worse (3 limit phase gate) would be a good solution... I think just simply numbering off phase gates is ideal...

    Yeah true.

Maybe even just have a "home" gate, which looks a bit different.

and every other gate goes to that gate.

and then when marines phase, the marines pick which other gate theyd like to go to (labelled by commander)
(if youve played gmod youd know labeling ingame isnt hard)

OR - the commander could pick where teh home gate goes, to have a more direct influence on where teh team ends up.

yep thats what the official answer was when this idea was suggested for ns1 years ago. Its meant to be a trade off the commander needs to consider - more phase gates = more phasing if there are too many. however the priority should always be that the marine spawn PG always phases you to the furtherest one first, and then so on.

Yeah, I think this is put into place tfor balancing the maps... I mean, if you could prioritize PGs, then the marines would just build 50 of them and someone would choose which one to go to. But as it is, the marine suffer if they get greedy/lazy and make too many! The commander needs to manage this.
