A Cool Trick...

hurray i found another use for the oh so loved parasite skill used by the skulk.

I thought i would share a trick i learned to the skulking community.
i dunno if everyone knows this yet, but u can use the skulk's parasite to open doors and i think work elevators. This really came in handy when i was playing on Hera as alien. I kept opening the door to the marine base from far away. Marines wuld think im right up at the door, but no i was waiting in the dark down the hallway. As they move in i close door behind and kill. It works even better with 2 skulks. got like 10 marines prolly all together. in the time i spent there. It was bad tho cuz me and another skulk wasted so much time, the marines secured 1 of our hives. but anyways its a good trick so use it, and kill sum stupid marines <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> Sorry if i wasted time posting sumthing you all already knew.

    Hadn't seen the refinement of _closing the door behind them, then attacking. I do use it to annoy them, or to open doors as I run up to them.

    Have to give that a try, next time on Hera.

    Shoot at the Switch/Thingy you would use to open the door

    Actually, its a funny tactic to use. Cloak in a room with a door. As a marine walks past, close the door (parasite doesn't uncloak you, did you know that ?). As hes trying to figure out WTF happening, chomp him <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Im not telling you my tactic with it because then it will be known and everyone will use it, i must get like 15 kills each time i go there...

    This can be really useful and fun on Nancy too!

    The first door by the marine spawn, (on the way to Mess Hall), is easily shootable from the little room with the resource node. You can use parasite to quickly close that door, from resource node munching distance, and it makes a good 'alarm' for marines comming to shoot your slimy hide. And if its a lone marine, you can hit the door again just as he passes through, trapping him in, and reinforcements out!

    Try it the other way to, shoot the door as you hear marines comming, then run into the little vent and munch them as they are flipping the switch, (you'll know exactly where they'll be.) This can be just about as useful in mess hall.

    Basically anywhere you want to cut a marine or two off from the rest of the group for a few seconds you might wanna try this.

    Oh, and mabey parasiting a few marines from a far off distance before they get to a doorway, then closing it so you have time to run off and hide.

    Does this work with all weapons? Lerk spikes? Marine bullets? Has anyone tested?

    Welders trigger swtiches (probably dut to theri fix/heal ability also triggers vents to be closed when welded, but only marked ones) I dont think lerk spikes do though, and as for Gorge, I sometimes have trouble hitting the switch with spit, I have to shoot like 6 times before I hit it right, whereas skulk parasite, hits anywhere, and triggers it.
