    Ive played the game since the day it came out, I founded (with my best friend) one of the first clans in the game to my knowledge (Sons of Metal [SoM]) but my join date is just about late '03. That does not make me or anyone else officially not oldschool. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    Hey guys! just randomly popped back on being a bit bored w/ the games I've been playing atm. NS was a damn good ride, thinking about DLing it on my new system and playing.

    As for history I remember 1.2 possibly before and played through 2.0 so been around for a bit.

    As for forum jokes... wasn't there a Short gun? or Shirt gun something...

    it was the only one that really stuck.

    The rest were randomly referred to by descriptives (flappy, fatty, etc) or just by number (more common)

    Hi everybody!!

    Wow - I was just talking to a friend of mine about oldschool NS days, and I popped on over to the site here. surprise surprise my login worked, and then I find this little cove of a thread with a lot of "old school" names I recognize.

    X5 I definitely remember. I think I remember there being an issue with your name - it needed to be longer than 2 characters or something... so you became "the x5" to comply. I actually remember a lot of the names in here (though I would be surprised if you guys remember me). I spent most of my time in the OT debating the great questions of life.

    Anywho - its great to be back, and I hope to get a few more posts under my belt again <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    my forum handle and ingame name are different but i used to go under the name Nosferatu. Played on most of the better known servers such as G4B2S and NSArmslab (<3 you guys). Started playing somewhere just before 1.04 was released, on the c|E clanserver. good times.

    EDIT: dug up an old siggy i still had.

    I remember sitting about my apartment and coming across something on NS. I remember thinking, ah man another CS clone for HL, so many now a days. I looked in on the site and I was instantly hooked. I remember a lot more servers being up and all the 1.0's. Personally I thought the game was better before CO was added but I still play and enjoy it. It's faster now and different but the core is still there and it rocks rolling to victory. I have been playing as The Evil One since i started and i usually roll in <Bad> clan innocent until proven guilty or I am in [I-AM] Gorges hideout. I have sat in NSable and G4BTS. I stopped playing for a long time due to connection issues. Found out months later it was router firmware and sorted it out. Good to see so many prerealese people still trolling in here.
