<div class="IPBDescription">Just a short thought</div>Just a thought, what if the marines didn't reload automatically when they ran out of ammo? Since you ARE the marine, if YOU don't realize your out of ammo, why would you think to reload, until you actually think to reload and press the button. This way, skilled players learn to keep a better eye on their ammo bar and not get the extra couple of seconds delay in between clips where the skulks can munch down a less attentive marine.

and even if it does, i still tend to hit R.
This is just a preference thing, I guess. Makes it harder on the marines who forget to reload their guns.
I stupidly always press R after every kill, as long as I can't see anything else to shoot at, it's a really bad habit. Especially if more guys come around the corned while I reload. Its really bad on CS:S with the M249 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
ahh cool <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
yeah i like the idea - would create more "CLICK CLICK CLICK, uh oh" situations, instead of only when you run out of ammo. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Well said, at the moment its "click, reload <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />"
Let's say you have 40 bullets in your clip. Two skulks jump out from nowhere and attack you. You fire back, killing one and wounding the other. The living skulk gets behind a crate or something, and you realize you have zero bullets (for the sake of the argument your pistol is empty or only has 1 shot left or something). There are two ways it could go.
If autoreload is on, your guy starts reloading. The skulk hears you, comes out, and eats you.
If autoreload is off, the skulk thinks that you're just waiting for him to pop out of cover so you can shoot him. You're safe for now, sort of, so you can run away or wait for a teammate or go "Oh man, just lost my appetite" to scare the skulk even more and maybe make him retreat to a defense chamber and heal up.
Basically autoreload means you can't fake out your opponent.

now that's a good point!
No it's not, if you are the sort of person that can keep a track of their ammo then you can keep a track of it to ensure you don't go into the zero. I'm also fairly certain that if you go to 0 bullets and you switch to your knife and back then it no longer reloads too. Also if you can't deal with that skulk knowing he's there with a pistol should he pop out then that's your own bad.
We should also have a heartbeat button. If you press it too often your heart explode, if you press it to little, you die in a heartattack. We should also have a swallow button so you don't die of saliva blocking your throat.
Don't forget that you also have to press the "brain function" button repeatedly or else it's lights out.
Anyways, I think that auto-reload should just be a toggled feature. When on, it helps noobs out a little bit. When off...well, you can fake people out.
