The ideas they have behind a number of their changes seem very good.
the first complaint you are going to hear is that they put to much focus on what made TFC bad (for a lot of people), aka trick jumping. The quick counter is that they are aiming to make trick jumping much more accessible to all players. Jump scripts are pointless, a few of the trick jumps are almost automatic now, and properly grenading is apparently easier to learn. however all of the skills still require practice to master.
will it actually be god?
No clue, I will find out tomorrow when I actually get some play time in <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Jesus, I feel like I'm 11 again and playing my first multiplayer shooter...TFC. It FEELS like TFC. It acts like it, its so ######ing good.
My only problem with any of the changes I've seen thus far is, the HW Guy's gun doesn't have a spin-up time, it just starts shooting immediately. Oh, and you now balance it with "Overheating" instead of "You're barely moving", which I think is a piss poor choice, myself.

Fileplanet's downloading at ~500kB/s. It's 86% done now.
So youre saying holding fire and pointing is better than aiming whilst trying to keep the heat at a high but not overheated level? It adds a bit of skill to the character.
The graphics are really awesome (looks like Counterstrike: Source or something when it comes to quality). There are some tiny sound glitches but overall I like the sounds, and the UI is very well designed. There are even hints for new players if you want them. The maps are great and play like the old TFC ones (at least as far as I could tell since I never played much TFC) and it was almost 100% bug free. Easily one of my favorite mods so far, although I'm going to have to get a lot better at the game before it gets really fun,
both the servers I played on, I had quite a bit of lag, even though my ping was like 20-30... was it me, was it the servers, or is it the game in general that's laggy?
tbh I haven't seriously played a multiplayer FPS in quite a while so I don't even know how to troubleshoot my connection anymore =d
FF = TFC except with better graphics and a few changes.
TF2 = New game but "TF" is still there.

Yeah, it's not really "pros and cons" as much as it is "different types of games." You could easily like both, dislike both, or like one and dislike the other.
It's really fast :x.
I will say that it requires more skill, but lets make it even harder and have the buildup time then. The rollup was...I dunno, fun. I liked it. THAT defined the HW Guy to me.

I never had even a bit of a lag problem- if anything, its the best netplay I've had since...well, since TFC.

I'll get you all a link off my host once i download then upload it to my servar
However... I really don't see myself playing this much when TF2 comes out...

I also fell in love with the new pyro. But the soldier is also really fun (rocket jumping is a lot easier then conc jumping <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />).
Anyone have a full list of console commands? (the circle menu sucks when you want to do something fast like det a dispenser or change disguise)
Lovin it.
(Disclaimer: List based on my own perception)
General:
-Quake style jumping
-When gaining elevation while bhopping the 2nd jump will give a huge vertical boost
-Indicators above players heads
-Grenade timer bar
-Auto reload for all weapons
-Added circle menu (good for spies and engis)
-More air control
Spy:
-No more feigning
-Invisibility ability added
-Ability to sabotage sentrys and dispenser
Scout:
-Craps are now a grenade and dont just drop out of the scout
Engineer:
-EMP nade seems to have a smaller radius
-No teleporter
Heavy guy:
-He seems faster
-No pre spin
-Minigun can overheat
Soldier:
-Needle Nades seem to have shorter fuse
Sniper:
-Red dot has been removed
-We got a visible laser
-Shot strength is shown by bar
Medic:
-Feels the same
Demoman:
-Feels the same
Pyro:
-Rockets arch
-Pyro can kill <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" /> (Its soo strange)
It feels overall pretty good.
Some of the underplayed classes (mainly spy and pyro) got good boosts. Pyro got maybe a little bit too much.
I'm not a big fan of bunnyhopping... so many games make an exploit into a game mechanic that I'm not interested in learning...
I played on maybe five separate servers, and it seemed to me that the actual laser is only visible if you're looking at the sniper who is aiming at you.

In TFC you just had a red dot.
In FF you can (under certain circumstances) not only see the red-dot, but the whole laser ray.
Detpacks now have ammo, but even though they don't come in most bags, nothing stops you from looting a detpack from another demoman's death-bag...
<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
And I still love hacking sentry guns. Especially on those "defend the capture point" maps where the whole team is right in front of it...

If you knife someone as a spy and noone has seen you committing the deed you will automatically dress up in your victims uniform.
