EDIT: Even though you can open doors/elevators whatever, it doesn't prevent the aliens from using it... they just have to press the button.
u put ya cursor over the door and click on it and u can open it close it and disable it for a few mins so aliens have to go the long way around in order to get in dat area so its a good idea
No, it doesn't actually disable it. I suppose if the aliens are dumb and can't press the button to reset it, it would be "disabled."
I just tested this with my roommate in a LAN game. I was opening a door, and he was able to shut it while it was moving up. I opened a door fully, and he could immediately close it. Basically, he was able to counteract anything I tried to hack.
It is useful to lower elevators and open doors for your marines when they're moving somewhere, though.
No disablling it is a bug u keep Opening it and closing it a few times then its locks closed then the server has to refresh its self to debug it so u got 2 mins or even more depending on the server refresh
well expoliting a bug well yeh But It will be accually Good If they allow that in the game just giving the NS team some more options In there next update

HaHa, Friendly Flames are ok. I think there should be a new command feature, slap aliens, when u can see them she should be able to slap them. The 'slap' feature will kindly tell aliens to get the hell out by throwing them against the closest wall and worldspawn killing them.
I find the commander's ability to 'toggle' lifts and doors to be very cool, underused, not advertised, and not very useful.
The only times I can see it being very useful would be to help marines get somewhere fast by getting things in place for them, or to open a door at the end of a long hall so that marines could blast aliens behind the door without getting too close to it.

Ever played the original (and maybe some later incarnations of) Zelda? In some dungeons there were these hands which would randomly try to drop on you and grab you... if they did, you were hauled back to the start of the dungeon...
