<div class="IPBDescription">physics</div>I just want to see a better physics in NS2, like inertia. (Acceleration, deceleration)

So if you push the exp. the forward button (W) you will need a short time to get to your top runing speed. And before you stop (stop pushing the W), you have to slow down, and it means a few more steps if you runing very fast (+1s). And it would be very cool, beacuse then you can't change direction so fast. Like sidewalk left, right, left, right (ADAD) (very annoying thing in cs or ns and in every game). And it would be cool if you runing away from an alien like hell, your marine maybe slip on the metal floor. Or if your runing (W) and then you press (S) you may slide a few meters. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

It would be also cool to see aliens to have inertia modifiers. Skulks shouldn't slip on everything but they should also have inertia (smal inertia). Onos (big inertia) will need a hard time to stop after a charge <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />.

Sorry for spelling mistakes.

Its perfect the way it is now.

I think the best way to think of this idea is as momentum, but trying to wrap my brain around how it would be like in game. If a marine jumps to the side or over that skulk, its pretty much toast. And how odd would it be to control?

Acceleration and Deceleration are fine, reaching top speed in a split second for an onos and be able to jump back and forth at top speed instantly makes no sense. The way skulk moves right now is really nice, i would hate to limit mobility any bit... Lerks already has a nice flight system, and Fade uses some magical ability that propels him through the air when he lifts his arms up so not sure how real physics apply in that situation.

I don't think actual accel/decel times wouldn't be very fun at all. It'd be more like steering the player than actually moving.

    well said.

itd feel like a slow paced racing game.

on an unrelated topic though.. i suppose i would like to see some little modifications

you cannot around REALLY fast, it would still be fast, but you just cant spin around like a spaz... or perhaps for marines it takes a while for you to realign the gun to where you are now looking.

but mainly on this point, i think onos' should have a max turning speed.

Physics for dead aliens = yay. Dead skulks lerks and fades hitting walls at full speed could look kinda neat. One of the very few atmoshpere related features I'd like see some day. For the rest of the movement it doesn't sound that great.

I'm not too sure this idea would work that well in this game. It would be very frustrating for player on either team. I'm just throwing this out there but I think a small amount of motion blur would be sweet when you turn at high speeds (a small amount to not block the players view but enough to make the game feel very cinematic).
