<div class="IPBDescription">Why is he holding a flag?</div>I just noticed this........was this something that was going to be in NS1? or did no one even think about it?
When claiming ownership of a piece of land, in this case a world, you would do so by placing a flag. In their case I am typing this all in assumption that their icon is the icon of this, "Claiming an Unknown World", and doing so by making ground in uncharted areas of programming.

Most likely based on this fine image from one of the early iterations of the NS Manual, it shows IP owned by UWE. It probably has no meaning other than "Hey, we made this game.. let's make it part of a logo."

I can't believe the OP's question yielded such a thorough, historically considerate reply... props Zavaro, and props to the collective knowledge of the NS fourms.
However I find this explanation more romantic <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Well, as Big Fish taught me, it's best to believe in false, more exciting version of a story than to ruin it with straight facts and assumptions. So I'd rather take ZONK's over my own. I'll admit that.

I would've thought that religion had taught you that. Big Fish <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
