Nessecary to purchase HL to play NS?

<div class="IPBDescription">Do I really have to spend more money?</div>I already purchased CS and CS-Source cd-key for steam.. Do I then have to purchase Half-Life too? Seems abit wierd to force people to spend more money to play a free game -_- Well, hope someone will answer this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

Also, when I try to install NS, I get the error "No valid install of steam found" or something like that.. Is that due to me not having Half-Life installed?

    Yes, you need a valid HL steam installation to play NS.

    Using CS-CZ is also possible, but is rather complicated to get it work with.
