    Vistas broken, imagine that....

I know BTW that this doesn't help you at all, but that's like buying a car that is famous for having everything go bad, then asking other people why it doesn't work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" /> I would suggest you install XP again and wait until Vista has a couple service packs [or Patches if you will]. There should be a service pack #3 for XP soon, according to the MS secrets blog it should be right after we start the new year, Feb or Mar.

    1)
Don't install 2 copies of an OS on your computer and expect things to work properly.
Whenever you are installing an MS operating system I really suggest you do a complete format before hand (don't forget to back up all your stuff), unless you really know what you are doing.

    2) Your video card drivers are not installed. Go download em and install them.

I assume that you installed the drivers under the OTHER copy of Vista, so this new one knows nothing of them. This is going to be the case for all drivers and installed programs.

    re-install drivers.

Make sure you have cl_gammaramp (or is there another _ in there?) turned off to be able to play NS in Vista.

correct command, but that only matters if it is a 64bit OS (there is a non 64bit Vista, right?)

I'm not positive. I haven't played NS on Vista. However, I *thought* that the 32bit version had trouble too?

The gamma problems mostly come from 64bit oses. His problem is specifically that he didn't have drivers (or old drivers, or no graphics card) installed.
