ok my laptop still has major problems but my desktop is just about fixed all i need to know is how to get rid of the warning cl_flashentitypaket messadge becase i lag real bad and then i see that in the top corner. as far as my laptop its vista so it wont even play hl right err i hate vista but i have no more money for xp.

    The guy across the street frmo me works in a 7-11 was tryin to get some RTS game to work in Vista. Once I disabled that aero crap and also disabled the 50 bloated running programs that came with it, the game ran fine. I had to turn the resolution down one touch but otherwise it worked great. Maybe you would be able to get it to run to turning off all the junk files that come with it like aero, windows firewall, notify and update checkers... If it can run vista, then the system requirements should be good enough for hl2 also right? Just disable all the crap that comes with vista, maybe that will help!
