<div class="IPBDescription">Is blood good or bad</div>I have a question for debate - How much gore and blood should there be in ns2
in vanilla ns1 there is relatively little compared with the modern video game obsession with gore. Im of a mixed opinion on gore, i think alot of games go over kill on it for no real reason, on the other hand, going in to a room and looking at post combat carige can be kind of cool and add to the realism and atmosphere. I quite like the gore levels in CS source - blood showing where players have been hit, some blood on walls, but u cant mash up corpses or do anything sadistic.
What level of gore can a game have before 18 +, 15 + and any other age limits are imposed? And currently what is the age break down of ns players, and does this matter. Will the gore level effect the the market for ns 2 and the player base, and should it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/asrifle.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::asrifle::" border="0" alt="asrifle.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/asrifle.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::asrifle::" border="0" alt="asrifle.gif" />

The other consideration is instead of blood, armor parts are the left over debris from combat (plus the already reasonable amount of blood). As for aliens, well... I guess you would need some level of Sci-Fi gore, be it blood, carapace fragments, or chunks of flesh.
Pacifists go play zen of sudoku!
Of course, this may be too extreme for some people, so it should be purely cosmetic and optional.
I think the addition of ragdoll effects will give the game a bit more punch. like onos knocking people about, or skulks flying off when shot in point blank with a shotgun etc.
But i definitely don't think that the game needs more red liquids or bones etc. I'm pretty certain this had been said many times - the game will try to remain accessible to as large an audiance as possinle meaning very low level of violence - the same as ns1.
Violence and gore can be there, but it needs to be tasteful and not gimmicky otherwise it will just get old and boring quick.
if it was an on off option i'd probably turn it off and gain an extra 10fps hah.
We're not making Doom 3 again here; full impalements etc just aren't necessary - But we are all human; I don't think anyone'll kick up a stink if there's blood involved <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
A bit more than just spraying when shot though = /
Just make it enough to see where I hit my target.
edit:
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->in ns1 some servers have the hl gore where if players sustain a threshold of damage they split in to meat and bones<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
It looks totally stupid. With this plugin you trade in clarity for ... well, nothing. It doesn't even add to the atmosphere since the blood and bones spawn in a random order when ever a player dies with no regard for his lifeform or the weapon he was killed with.
