Our gut says $20 but we're not sure.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Taken straight from the <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/faq/#faq-850" target="_blank">FAQ</a>:
Even though thats an extra $30.00 for me but oh well!

That's funny, because for me that's an extra 20$.
The extra $10 is tax, everything bought from canada/US... etc is about an extra 50% more.
Ah it just sounded funny is all. Would the extra 30 stop you from buying? What would NS2 <i>have</i> to include for you to buy it at 50$ American/Canadian?(that's including tax).
Wait, huh? You pay tax on things bought on steam? And I thought steam only handles in US dollars...
Well since i pay 50% more to buy things from the U.S, i would get 50% less the amount of money if i converted NZD into USD.. if that makes sense.

You pay tax on everything that is out of country, as far as i know of.

That would be around $75 NZD, i would still buy it of course <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Because buying games off steam is about 25-50% cheaper than buying them in stores in New Zealand <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Now that I've had a taste of work (And currently looking for some more) I've learnt you can make around £45 a day in a non-professional job, which means I'd happily pay a days wage to get something like NS2, though I doubt it'd ever cost that much.
Anything from £15 to £30 seems acceptable for good games these days... Or ######e games with a 'good' label on them (*COUGHEAGAMESCOUGH*)
or are you only talking 'bout the case of buying CDs and such?
Steam's tax is like a dollar or two for the service.
er ur dumb its not 50% the purchas its 30% each purchases from tax so it wouldnt be 10$ +tax it would be like only 3 to 7 dollars more 20$/19.99$ is enough for me anything more then that i wouldn't purchase it especialy since its not even made from a company like valve and its being made by just "Unknown Worlds Team" sht not even counter strike the supposly world best shooter game is that much when it could be.
and thanks digz for the FAQ link I didn't even know NS2 had it must of missed it around hehe
but there was one question that wasn't answered....is NS2 going to be a self client or will it be running off steam, wich means will I need steam to lunch NS2? and will there be preview videos or game played screen shots?
hmm, that's about what.. 25 bucks (aussie) now? Reasonable.

errr.... i sure hope not. sure i can afford it, but i don't spend much on games and frankly, it's not how much i can afford to spend- it's how much i'm willing to spend. kids my age (i've just turned 18) aren't exactly earning much. we're working part time jobs and/or studying at uni/tafe and/or bumming around leeching off our parents and/or leeching off the government (centrelink).
and basically, my friends are probably even stingier than me, (i prefer online games with friends i know in person), and it'll be just that much less-convincing for me to convince them to also purchase NS2, a game they've likely not heard about or are less interested in. But it's pretty simple, if you've got a game like battlefield 2142 or such costing 80 bucks, and NS2 that's guaranteeing just as much fun and playtime, for 25 bucks, even though you haven't really heard of it much, a friend just might be able to sway you with a recommendation.
Pretty much, it's the law of demand, and the principle of opportunity cost.
(btw, i hated Economics, the school subject)
No, you will have to buy a Game you know nothing about! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
As far as I know there will even be a Demo available.
