The bluetooth reciever on the computer can do all those things.
A wiimote isn't even required for these tricks, you just need a cheapo IR filtered camera and a computer. I like these videos though, because it basically calls the bluff of all these companies who are like "Look at this super high-tech touch panel screen! It costs $10000 because the technology is BRAND NEW". The technology behind these things is hilariously simple and inexpensive AND has been around for ages.
He needed the Wii to be on to power his IR light-bar in the head-tracking display one. That was because he was too lazy to build yet another IR light array.
Really, this technology is nothing new and really has nothing to do with the Wii at all (sorry, Nintendo doesn't get props for this stuff in my eyes). IR filtered cameras are cheap, and after you have that it's just a matter of doing some math (matching locations on camera to locations on the screen) and using that to control the mouse. Infact, you can use a digital camera with an IR lens (which can be made from old film in like 5 minutes) to do exactly this. You don't even need the Wii.
Agreed. It's nothing new, what makes the videos great is the fact that your Wiimote can act as a pretty good IR camera.
Prosumerism ftw. =)
Because he hasn't worked out a simple viable way to put it in to a game and make it work? Just showed you a tech demo and some goofy glasses?
Oh and he's fat and asian.
You mean Doom 3. Crysis is a spectacular game.
It had jumping monsters, and audio logs and a introduced some spectacular machinery (tho
