The whiteboard in particular sounds GREAT. I know a few high school teachers who would love to have one.

Kudos to that guy hard-core. It's funny, because a company could have made so much money on that, and now it's all entered into the public domain.

Oh man, if that head-tracking was standard for Wii's it'd be incredible.

I'm stunned. Really cools stuff. It's going to be a while before we see apps allowing for multi-touch input but I can't wait. The head tracking also seems like a lot of fun, I can't believe it hasn't been implemented in a console yet.

Because they're too busy remaking the same games over(Sonic) and over(Megaman) and over again (Final Fantasy).

You don't need a Wii. Just a controllermote.

You do need a Wii, to power the cord and keep the 'mote active(lest it just shuts off moments after you press any button).

    This is COOL BEANS

The bluetooth reciever on the computer can do all those things.

A wiimote isn't even required for these tricks, you just need a cheapo IR filtered camera and a computer. I like these videos though, because it basically calls the bluff of all these companies who are like "Look at this super high-tech touch panel screen! It costs $10000 because the technology is BRAND NEW". The technology behind these things is hilariously simple and inexpensive AND has been around for ages.

According to a classmate who's had a look at the API for this stuff, it's plenty simple and easy to work with. Couple of action listeners, really.

This guy is awesome indeed, I love the way he taunts the big bad game developing companies to actually create some games with these features <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

He needed the Wii to be on to power his IR light-bar in the head-tracking display one. That was because he was too lazy to build yet another IR light array.

Really, this technology is nothing new and really has nothing to do with the Wii at all (sorry, Nintendo doesn't get props for this stuff in my eyes). IR filtered cameras are cheap, and after you have that it's just a matter of doing some math (matching locations on camera to locations on the screen) and using that to control the mouse. Infact, you can use a digital camera with an IR lens (which can be made from old film in like 5 minutes) to do exactly this. You don't even need the Wii.

Agreed. It's nothing new, what makes the videos great is the fact that your Wiimote can act as a pretty good IR camera.

    Prosumerism ftw. =)

Because he hasn't worked out a simple viable way to put it in to a game and make it work? Just showed you a tech demo and some goofy glasses?

Oh and he's fat and asian.
