Some people treat pets like children re: human beings so it would be normal to love a pet.
This doesn't mean you can't like the companion cube or the pet rock or the car you drive or that these objects cannot bring pleasure to your life.

Almost everyone who played Portal thought the game was hilarious and superbly written and that the companion cube was an awesome concept, worthy of owning a replica of. but I guess you think toys based on cartoons, t-shirts with band logos on them, and any other amusing things based on pop culture shouldn't exist. I guess we should all wear plain white, drive the same car, eat the same generic food rations, etc. because nothing besides other human beings should be liked or loved by anyone.
why do people buy or like anything? because it gives them some kind of pleasure or fills some kind of need. Human beings should be loved, objects should be liked. Some people treat pets like children re: human beings so it would be normal to love a pet.
This doesn't mean you can't like the companion cube or the pet rock or the car you drive or that these objects cannot bring pleasure to your life.

Seriously though, everyone has to get off their stupid ass high horse. The WCC is the sh*, you only live once, and you're allowed to profess your love for an inanimate object if you damn well want to. What about cars? You can't love your car? You can't love your room?
