indiana jones is such an awesome franchise, but what makes it awesome is the humor tied in with the action/adventure. this trailer didn't even make me smile, let alone laugh <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> I saw plenty of action and no humor or adventure... hopefully the trailer is just a bad sample of the movie - they so often are. or maybe I'm just old and crotchety.

I do hope we're going to see the sparkle in his eye + greedy smile in this movie as something funny usually happens after that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
I saw this trailer yesterday in the Cinema, looks a lot better than the other recent action movie rehashes (like the James Bond flicks with Pierce in them... that said I did like Casino Royale which came after those =3 ).
Heck, most of the trailers I saw seemed pretty good; It almost seems the writer strike has made the movies more interesting rather than worse XD

Honestly, the trailer looked good when I saw it (was before Ironman).
what I am kinda curious about is that the big bald nazi looks much like the big balled nazi from one of the earlier movies (wana say raiders, but can't remember atm, the scene with the big dude and the plane). Hell, we even gt the same 'indy punching big bald guy and big bald guy basically ignoring it' scene!
If he doesn't chronically fall asleep at one action sequence in the movie I'll be pissed. They have to make a pun about his age. I'd think Ford would be cool with it.

Pretty much everything I've heard of Harrison Ford is that he's a humourless ass, but yeah... if they don't have him nodding off or yelling at kids on his lawn or something, I'll be annoyed.
To be fair, it's not like he was all that young in the other Indiana Jones movies either. He was born in 1942; Last Crusade was '89.
...I also think the primary association of Indiana Jones with action-comedy mostly stems from the Last Crusade as well. Temple of Doom and Raiders of the Lost Ark don't really have all that much consistent comedy. The only problem I'd noticed with the trailer for IV is more reliance on one-liners, which IJ generally isn't noted for (it's somewhat strange, since usually in his 'dungeon crawls' he's relatively silent, or at least dispensing direction or information to whoever's with him)...although no real exploration seems to be going on in the trailers. Most of the comedy in all three films happens beween the action set pieces, and that's usually not perceived to be the best trailer material.
The focus has always been elaborate stunt pieces and the feeling of an ambitious TV series with a daring hero who always lands in trouble, and the trailer seems to follow that to some extent. The addition of more characters is somewhat dubious, though, since it looks like he's basically going to running around with a troupe of followers (and I despise the "oh, and our hero has a new protege!/kid!" plot turns - although wikipedia says one of the production staff said it's Marion and an RAF officer's kid or something, and not Indy's).
I also liked Marion (Karen Allen), so that's nice to see for me, anyway <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> .
Also, that big bald guy was a running set piece. He played - I think - 3 seperate bad guys in Raiders of the Lost Ark, slightly fewer in the subsequent movies. He died, so he's not actually in the 4th movie, but I guess his spirit can live on in Indiana Jones punching big bald men?
I generally don't get excited about movies, but I'll make an exception for this one. At the very least it has some very good potential.

Played 4 characters in the 3 movies. His name was Pat Roach. He was one of my Grandad's better friends. Owned a scrap yard that I used to play in. Nice guy.

Also, Indy is probably the best action hero ever...
But that definitely looks worth seeing in the theaters; biggest screen I can find.

And thus ends my claim to fame.
