Welp, I finally got mine today.
600 smack-a-roos that is "supposed" to be going to buy random crap. Except mine is going to a Lojack, SMOG/car registration and car insurance that is coming up.
Other than that.
What are you guys and gals getting/doing with yours and how much did you get if you wish to say?
Wooo, i'm happy. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Hearing too many things about this though, supposedly we won't get money back on tax returns at all, even if we might of. Dunno, wierd. Maybe I'll get TF2 now? haha

Mine (along with my State and Federal returns) is sitting where it got deposited (back on the 5th), my savings account.
Honestly the fact that we are in a recession hasn't changed my spending habits that much, I never really did spend that much, and I am not going to change that.
oh, right, about it.
The deal is that it is just 100% money in your pocket. Your Refunds (State and Federal), if any, will not be affected by it, in fact if you are getting a refund you will probably get the full amount of the rebate.
The base is $600, if you claim children you get a bonus, if your AGI is above a certain amount they subtract some.
It is NOT Federally taxable (The states could tax it I guess).
All of this is actualyl covered in a little letter they sent out to every one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I've started spending <i>more</i> in the last couple of years. Although that may have something to do with having a job. Still wish someone would give <i>me</i> free money.
Oh, and the reason I don't spend money is because I was dead broke and supporting my self for a year. Now I am living at home (thus very low rent for where I live), and have a good steady decent paying job. I just am not used to spending money any more. I kinda shocked my self when I went to look at my bank accounts this morning and saw what my total amount in them was. I knew how much I had in each account, but I have a few different ones (CDs, Savings account, checking accounts, etc), but the total hadn't really processed before <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> (No, it isn't that much, but for me it is nice).
I might go out and splurge on some books or something, I have been meaning to hit up The Strand for the past month and just haven't gotten there. All of my game purchases (the few that they are) are always bargain basement deals (Beyond Good and Evil for $9 is pure win), I haven't bought any books in a while, and it has been a while since I last upgrade my computer.
*ponder ponder ponder*
Communism is why. Next month you'll be put on a list. Month after that, deported to Russia.
If it's any consolation....I love you. =(
