The update also adds features such as "nemesis/revenge" freeze cam and new particle effects that were introduced with Team Fortress 2. Along with these updates, a new map, dod_Palermo, will be made available. Palermo is a "remix" of the popular community map known as dod_salerno.

Ah well, I'll get back to WW2 FPS gaming when FH2 enters the European theater (FH2.2 I think, the next one). Meh perhaps I'll download DoD once more to see if I like it (if things have changed at all)
@Abra MP40 isn't the greasegun, the greasegun (M3A1) is an American response to the Screaming Eagles Airborne's need for an easy to carry/highly reliable sub machine gun to compliment their m1 Carbine (it's also less expensive then the Thompson, though not quite as good in terms of firepower). At a first glance from a distance they can look similar though...
Nope. I hope they don't at least. The step taken from the original DoD to the current DoD:S was to make the game much more class based and team oriented. Riflemen had their close combat weapons taken away and rifle grenades added along with ironsights to make them excel in long range combat, whereas they were severely weakened in close range without a ready-at-hand close combat weapon. SMG wielders were given an on-hand close combat weapon and had their accuracy reduced at long range.
If anything, I hope they add a semi-automatic rifle for the Germans (g43) and the m1 carbine as a standard class weapon for the Americans. Give the rocket soldier something else.
I saw a modern hl2 loc in a map <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
An official one? No way. Wouldn't put it past a custom mapmaker though.
Haze, I agree that a G43 (or a G41) would be a great addition and that the M1 Carbine doesn't really belong with the rocket dude. Give him an Ithaca 37 shotgun or a Grease Gun to match the Axis rocket dude's close combat Mauser, and give the M1 to a new class that would match the German G43 guy. Also I would like a paratrooper class with the grease gun/FG42 or something. They could just go copy DoD, perhaps.
They should reintroduce all the old weapons and balance them - more weapons = greater fun.
I just played the new update for DoD:S and it altered the atmosphere of the game a lot imo. Now it's just like TF2 except with different maps and guns, and I hate TF2 so now DoD:S isn't that fun either. I guess I'll go back to DoD original...
