I found some searches and I see that Im not the first to think of this but here is my take on it.
If marines can have mines why cant have aliens them too?
So besides gorge only ability and a res cost (when available and cost can we worked out later) this is how i see it might working in NS2
<u>How it reacts in the level</u>
Can be placed anywhere.
It will be cloaked if a sense chamber is near.
If on dynamic infestion it is camoflauged and cannot be picked up by a scan or seen by the eye (very well).
Cannot be seiged.
<u>Power</u>
Besides obvious damage it could have another effect that makes it useful. (stun/slow, alarm/scent/parasite, blind/acid gas, or jam gun)
<u>Weakness</u>
Just as only bile bomb destroys mines, alien mines have to be blown up by gl or nade. I dont know how flame would react. Either destroy it or reveal it after DI is gone to be blown up.
<u>Use</u>
Basiclly everthing the marine uses his mines for. (cept climbing)
Would allow a gorge to better protect its investment in a structure if he/she can add to its continued survival. Doesnt make the gorge more powerful, just more versatile.
I dont think this takes away from aliens or makes them too much like marines. Aliens have few defensive weapons so mines would make it a lil more challenging for marines (in a good way). Nothing like an unexpected boom when running into a room or vent.
What you guys think? Any way we can expand on this?
Or should we try to think of something original that could have the same idea as above but not in a mine form?

If the mine leaps into marine's weapon and bites the clip off will make more sense <strike>(shotgun and granade launcher, any explanation?).</strike>
Incase of granade launcher, the mine bumps the granade launcher's cylinder and sucks of the ammo.
Shotgun, the mine opens the ammo's chamber and sucks the ammo (almost taking down the gun from marine's hands).
Through... the mine would have to be smart to do that.
