On the XBox 360...
So I have heard that Flayra, has announced that they are going to port Natural Selection 2 to the XBox 360 system. I cannot think of a worse idea to ruin your loyal fan base from Natural Selection 1 and further more ruin Natural Selection itself... To put a game as complicated and involved as Natural Selection on a console you'll have to dumb it down soo much that it will no longer be a good game. It will just become a generic FPS that is easy to play. My suggestion is to NOT make Natural Selection 2 for the XBox 360. If you MUST make one from the XBox 360 make it it's own version and have it no how related to the PC version in aspects of game play, controls, and online servers. If you do make an XBox 360 version of Natural Selection 2, do not use the code and Engine from the one for the PC version so that the PC version stays on track with it's Natural Selection game play, design, and control aspects.
Personally I think you shouldn't even do it until the PC version of Natural Selection 2 is out and everyone is having fun on it.
P.S. I cannot figure out how to make a simple Poll...

they wont.they already said that.
If UW wants to port NS2 to the 360, they will find a way to keep the same feel of the game.
The PC uses mouse and keyboard.
Different controls mean the game would have to be different.
Here's a good "analogy":
If you tried to play baseball with a katana instead of a baseball bat, you'd have to change the rules. The ball might split in half, and it would get complicated.
But if you just intend on killing someone in their sleep, either one will work ok.
See, making NS2 playable with an xbox 360 controller is like murder...
to be honest, considering a 360 port is a smart idea, because it broadens their player base without hurting the pc base.
this game is being designed for the pc, and they made it pretty clear that the 360 port is being considered because of the very fact that it would broaden the player base. if it becomes too much work to adapt it for console, or requires dumbing down in any way, i'm sure they would drop it, or figure out a way that would appease everyone.

Well as long as the PC version is completed first, I wouldn't really care. Problem is, how many x360 players know about NS1, let alone NS2. I just hope that if it is released on 360 that it will have a significant player base like the old NS1 PC did. I am not to optimistic about that, but hey it could happen.
Also, will they have to handicap PC players due to their superior accuracy on the mouse?
I seem to recall some other games that let 360 players play against PC players had to introduce an accuracy handicap on the PC players.
They also stated that there aren't definite 360 plans, they 'just don't want to put themselves in the corner by making it require mouse and keyboard'
so don't flip out.

HAHAHAHA. That was one ridiculous analogy, and i'm not sure it was 'good' as an analogy, but it sure as hell was good.

I thought that was more in regards to the interface.

My thoughts exactly. Can you even imagine how hard it would be to Fade w/ dual-analog?

I think the 360 needs a mouse and keyboard.
We haven't announced that.
In response to this question on the 2/13/09 podcast:
6) can you reveal the ambitious changes you have made to the commander UI? (inspired by the 360 control pads)
In the podcast charlie says something like "we are focused on making the PC version the best we can make it and then we're going to do the 360 version" and then later says something like "if we don't make some big decisions now then it's really not going to work on the 360" but that they "do want it to work there." I'm not quoting perfectly but it sounds to me like you guys were saying you will try to make it work on the 360.
