Troubles starting NS

Hello, I'm having troubles starting NS. I've dl and installed ns 2x and gotten no error messages. I cannot find the launch NS icon in the NS folder. Is it in one of the sub folders (though I did not see it)? What is the icons name, if it is there? and how do I get steam to find the program?

Not sure if I just missed a step, but nothing I've seen on this site so far says to do anything besides download and install.

Thanks for the help,
Grundell

there is no NS launcher, you launch it from the STEAM My Games list.

you've probably found this by now, it's a sticky. that'll get you up and running. remember, NS1 is a mod for Half-Life - that means you have to have HL1 (and not HL Source) installed to play NS.

    ah.

    The stop you missed was "Restart Steam" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Steam, much like windows, has finicky little things, and quite often the solution is "Restart it".
