Farscape

<div class="IPBDescription">Comics, Conventions and Webisodes!</div>The last couple of years have been a bit of a rebirth for me. I rediscovered my love for Transformers about three years ago, I rediscovered my love for writing two years ago, a year ago I got heavily back into Stargate and as of a few months ago... Farscape.

Farscape. Oh yes.

It all started when I saw the DVD box sets on sale. I liked the series years back when it was airing but could never get into since the networks didnt seem to know what to do with it and I always missed eps.

My mind was blown.

The entire series plus PKW was bought out after a marathon session of season one.

And then I watched it again.

And again.

And... again.

The upcoming webisodes fired my interest again this year. I discovered that <a href="http://www.boom-studios.net/" target="_blank">Boom!</a> were releasing <a href="http://www.boom-studios.net/farscape-1-2nd-print.html" target="_blank">comics</a> that pick up the story after the Peacekeeper War! And that Rockne S. O'Bannon was involved!

I've had to order online as my local comic book store... sucks... but it's definitely well worth the extra expense. I'm currently waiting on #3 to come through the mail.

So yeah, I'm currently in a massive born-again-esque fanboy phase which will probably pass but nonetheless I feel the need to indulge in <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /> The upcoming <a href="http://www.rcevents.com.au/" target="_blank">OzScape</a> convention isnt helping matters either as it's actually close enough for me to attend! w00t!

So... just kind of wondering if anyone else out there is as stoked about this year for the new and upcoming Farscape content as I am?

Yeah I am also a recent reborn Farscape fan. Having re-discovered the boxed set after catching the occasional interesting episode on TV while I was living in Australia.

Needless to say after having all the episodes available to you in the correct order sitting on your bookshelf makes it a hell of a lot more awesome, so that you can follow along the evolving story and really enjoy all the subtle character and plot developments that get sneaked into each new episode. Even the throw-away one-time-plot episodes you most commonly see in SCI-FI series such as TNG did a great job at elaborating on the universe and the many possibilities and aspects of it.

Yeah great series, glad I watched the whole thing.

    NOBODY... has margaretas... with PIZZA.

Sci Fi abandoning Farscape was the beginning of the end, as far as I'm concerned. Now they show wrestling and cops in between reruns of Battlestar Galactica.

    The story of Farscape continues in the <a href="http://www.boom-studios.net/farscape-1-cover-a.html" target="_blank">Comic Series</a>, which will also include other spinoff series such as <a href="http://www.boom-studios.net/farscape-d-argo-s-lament-1-cover-a.html" target="_blank">D'Argo's Lament</a>, and <a href="http://www.boom-studios.net/farscape-strange-detractors-1-cover-a.html" target="_blank">Strange Detractors</a>.

    It's all Canon too. My inner fanboy rejoices <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    I loved that moment in SG-1. Wonderfully done <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

In recent news, it seems the <a href="http://www.henson.com/" target="_blank">Jim Henson</a> company has partnered up with <a href="http://www.zazzle.com/farscape" target="_blank">Zazzle</a> for a limited duration sale of T Shirts in celebration of Farscapes 10th Anniversary!

The shirts are available until the 22nd of March.

I bought mine as soon as I found out, one for me, two friends and a spare just-in-case. They're pretty damn cheap at $18 a pop.

    {Edit}

In additional news, the Comic series #1 and #2 are seeing a third printing! <a href="http://blog.boom-studios.net/2009/03/farscape-2-goes-to-third-printing/" target="_blank">More at the Boom! Website!</a>.

That's the second post of this general nature to be attracted to this thread, the first was deleted.

It's rather childish IMHO to make such a simplistic comparison as "X > Y". A linear method for judging the relative "Worth" of science fiction shows just does not do the genre justice. Lexx is Good. Firefly Is Good. Stargate is Good. Farscape is Good.

What is personal is the mood one can be in. Right now for me, it's Farscape. A few months ago, it was Stargate and Firefly.

    Moods change. Priorities shift.

But nothing would convince me to rate any one particular show above another. Apples and Oranges.

I was stating my personal opinion. However since you are too narrow minded you see it as an attack. Maybe learn to think of all possible situations before you try to act too smart for your britches.

The way you stated it implied that you claimed it to be fact, rather than opinion. "I like Lexx better than Farscape" would have been unambiguous.

Anything that someone posts without an arm and a leg worth of facts is opinion.
