Not valid steam installed

i know its in the list

but i got steam installed
and loads of games

afcourse hl2,css,dod, ect
i got allot of other mods that do work without any problems
and with this 1 it says on installing "not valid steam installed"

and i'm not installing steam and all my games again for this mod so thats not a option.

help plz?

    You don't have Half Life installed.

    HL2 and HL:S will not cut it.

    i got

    hl 2
    hl source
    and old HL
    hl deathmatch
    counterstrike 1.6
    ---------- condition zero

    counterstrike source
    day of defeat

    garry's mod 10

    and loads more
    it aint that i don't got the engine or files
    i got evrything that i need to get it to work
    according to this page and steam

    Half Life is what you need (none of the rest of it matters a whit)

    The error you are getting is due to Windows not knowing of your HL install (or it not existing).

    1) Have you actually loaded up HL and played it in Steam (launch it and play through the hazard course)?

    2) Have you reinstalled your OS with out reinstalling Steam/HL?

    3) Have you copied your Steam/HL installs from another location (either on your computer, or from a different computer)?

    Worst case, try uninstalling HL via steam (right click on it) and then reinstalling it via steam.

    i moved from disk once


    but all other mods that i installed lateron do work
    and do reconise it as steam
    and a hl2 mod

    so i don't know why it should be any different with this mod

    were these HL2 mods, or HL mods?

    Basically, I gave you the answer. Windows/Steam doesn't see a valid HL install. The solution is what I said: Uninstall/reinstall HL via steam and then play the hazard course. It should do it.
