@ UWE Team | walking spawn alien
The Hatcher is a big creature it has the half-size of a onos.
Maybe it look like a mix between gorge and onos (female)
It has a huge belly:
Example

Health and armor?
1. a lot of armor but its slow
or
2. like the onos and its a bit faster.

Attack1: spit a load of acid at CLOSE RANGE! like the gorge heal / or just a bite attack.
Attack2: Not a attack, just brute mode, in this mode, the teammates will spawn as nymph out of this Hatcher, everytime a "teammate" spawn, the Hatcher lost energy (not health)
Attack3: slime /placenta mines (do a bit damage and slow down marines) / or the hatcher can create Dynamic infestation on surfaces, very slow but it can help to expand it / make it faster
Attack4: explode, no damage to marines but to buildings and it will spawn 3-6 (?) teammembers. (and maybe it create a small radius of Dynamic infestation?)

So the teammembers can choose to spawn at "hive" or the hatcher

Cost:
it cost more then a onos because its a very advantage.
But if you think, the marines can build spawns, the aliens not, so its maybe balanced

version 2:
or maybe if a mates spawn out of this hatcher, the hatcher will lost health, so without a gorge, it has not many chances

P.S. kids don't go crazy its just an idea.

We've had many Ideas already for mobile Spawns, even Gorges morphing into Nests and laying down Hive-eggs, and almost every one of them has been denied.

With the new Grid-layout there isn't realy a need to have a mobile Spawn, since those Ideas where spawned by the Problematic Tactic of locking down Hives to prevent Aliens the advantage of Techtree and Spawnrate increase.

I guess it wasn't implemented in Half-Life because it looks like a crab with a giant testicle on it's underbelly. It's not scary, it's not practical and it looks damn weird. I can't see a 'new creature' being added this late or considered until release.

PS. Could also be an early version of strider?

I have no idea how you would want the alien to look. I simply cannot imagine an onos and gorge cross which is only half the size of the onos, and can support a huge belly without looking overly cumbersome.

And I'm not very keen on the idea of an alien being a spawn base. Aliens already have a large advantage in mobility and can move around the map real fast. This would give them an added advantage, they don't really need.

Also, I don't think the devs have time to include a new alien by now anyway.

Yes. I can't remember where I've seen it, but I remember this Beast hunting me through half the Map of dark tunnels. Nearly ###### myself.
But it did shoot annoying babycrabs at the player.

It would be interesting, maybe not so free roam though, otherwise anybody could block off a hall with some defenses and become a hive, but maybe with a team limit of them, then perhaps starting a infection in an area and, after it reaches a certain amount of infection, then have the capability of building a hive in the area, with a limit to the the hives that can be built. perhaps requiring 2 gorges to egg together or something to be able to make it to prevent noobs from spamming the hives around the marine spawn.
