Reserved Slots for Steam groups

Since NS2 is going to use Steamworks, I think this feature would really come in handy for server admins like myself.
Just some speculation: So far, it seems like if you want to use a reserved slot system on your server, you would have to load a third-party Lua script to handle slot reservation. In turn, that would flag your server as modded and likely reduce the traffic from public players.
Hopefully it's not too much to ask, but I think integrating a simple reservation system with NS2 would be great. You could run a vanilla server and still be able to save slots for the members of your community. Valve did something similar with Left 4 Dead; two cvars named sv_steamgroup and sv_steamgroup_exclusive, which specified the Group ID and reservation methods for a server. They even went as far as to list the servers for your Steam groups in the main menu.
Knowing that the dedicated server might not make the beta, it would be nice to see something like this for release day.

Though I would not have a problem if the NS2 server browser showed all servers by default, like TF2 does. Servers running Sourcemod are tagged as such, so anybody using the server browser in TF2 can still filter out all SM servers and play on (assumed) pure ones, though that's nearly a minority by now.
If admin plugins affected the "modded" flag, then there would be very little pure servers within a month of release.
