<div class="IPBDescription">people call them "turrents"</div> Ok something that i've noticed lately ALOT. People both in voice chat and text chat are calling turrets "turrents." Normally I'm not such a big grammar pants when it comes to things like this but i've heard this one over and over ... its becoming astronomically annoying <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
So, to clear things up.

<a href='http://www.m-w.com/' target='_blank'>Also note when you type in "turrent" here, nothing comes up. </a>
I hope this clears up some confusion. Happy turreting. <!--emo&::sentry::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/turret.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='turret.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::siege::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/siege.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='siege.gif'><!--endemo-->

acctually LMAO is 4 words (!)
and is "turrent" an acctaul word? some kinda bug or something?
So.. i guess... if you were stretching it.. you could say a torrential rain of turrets....
gg dr seuss
I hate people that say "meh". Its not a word, and never will be. Same with "alot", its "a lot", get it right if you going to make a rant about people saying/typing the wrong thing.
If you call it a slang word, then I shal call "turrent" a slang word. So <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
I think people say/type "turret" "turrent" because "turret" just sounds weird. To me, it sounds like it needs a "n" in there. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
BTW, I used to say "turrent" but now I say "turret". Mostly because I don't want to **obscenity** off these grammar teachers. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Also, I find it very annoying when people pronounce "draw" as "drawl".
I can't help but stop what I'm doing(whatever I'm doing) and yell
"OMFG IT'S TURRETS YOU GRADE SCHOOL **obscenity** CHILD >.o"
Same thing with 'leetspeak'. That mostly started when people needed more secure passwords so started coming up with ways to mark up a word. Easier to remember 'n0th!Ng' than 'afgneizxrtz', and the former is actually MORE secure against a brute-force attack than the latter. Of course, 'ç!_o5Ng*' is more secure than either of them, and you can even go further with more extra-ASCII characters, but few people know how to type those and would be more likely to use the same secure-password on their e-mail account as on their root login so they only have to remember one. Down side being, e-mail passwords aren't encrypted when sent, so they ould theoretically be sniffed much more easily and *boom*, someone has your superuser login. :6
Short form, don't type like you're 'hip' or 'trendy'.. it just makes you look like an idiot who can't spell or watched 'Hackers' once too often. (A good movie for MST3King, by the by. Can do that one over and over.. never gets old, making fun of morons.)

Ok, I know that it is "turret" and not "turrent", but I am sure some not native English speaking doesn´t.
Imagine If the game would be in German or French. Would some people then not do spelling and speaking mistakes as well.
Like for "Turret" "Geschützturm", or for Siege Turret "Belagerungsgeschütz". Or in case of the sentries "Roboterkanonen" or similar.
Or for the bile bomb "Gallenbombe".
Commander: Umm, what's a turrent?
* Idiot ejects commander
"Commander, need turnips outside base!"
"Comm, build a turnip farm in hive room"
"Rush past the turnips and chomp the command chair"
"Oh no, they've got siege turnips!"
<!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I don't know about anyone else, but I second the vote to change "turrent" to "turnip". I know <b>I</b> will be calling them turnips from now on. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Actually, I've just <i>got</i> to add that last line to my sig!! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Hell yeah! I'm in on this! Turnip it is!
I can see you are busy writing smart remarks...
