...its part of the game ...otherwise you could spam with turrets everywhere.
It was like making Bunker Walls in Starcraft Original against a 0-0-0 BNET newbie.
Also hiding the TF in the most random spot made it pretty LOL as well.

It's not lame. It's a great element of gameplay that adds strategy and depth to the game.
Besides now the main target is going to be the RT that powers everything in the area. So likely Turret Factories will be "replaced" by the RT. And iirc when that RT goes then everything in the rooms turns off, not just the turrets.

Wow that makes more sense then building a tf in every room... Right now commanders don't even bother with turrets. If the Tf was like a armslab/protolab where you only need 1 or at most 2... wow that fits into the game 100%!!!!!

--cone of fire, so it matters where and how they are placed. They can be rotated by the commander when placing
--probably won't be able to be knocked down, as that causes all sorts of headaches
--possibly can run out of ammo so the commander needs to keep an eye on ammo count and reload them
--no turret factories, currently
--will be linked to the power grid
--I haven't talked to Charlie about upgrades for the turrets, so I don't know if any are planned or not
--no talk at the moment about alt fire, though it's an interesting idea
Please keep in mind that the above is all subsequent to change if deemed broken, annoying, useless, etc. based on adequate playtesting and what Charlie feels is going to work the best. So, please refrain from too many "OMG, they are ruining NS, it's gonna suck!" comments.

Preemptively, tying it to the powergrid avoids this problem.
