no, because EVERYTHINGS size was to small in that video, the buildings and infantry portal were way to small aswell, the onos was like ok..
They looked like small mindless skulks, popped out of nowhere in front of gorges, tried to move towards some marine/structure, sometimes bit down a few times but more slowly than regular skulks, then xeno'ed. Usually amusing, but more often than not frustrating.

They get stuck on piss size ledges and didn't have the AI to path around them. A snark sized babbler with decent AI might have actually been entertaining.
Basically a skulk that walks in a retarded direction of its choice at 1mph, then bites and jumps if you place a marines buttocks in the vicinity. IIRC it also exploded after a set period of time.
It was supposed to be a cleverly used decoy which spammed by gorge and mixed with actual skulks to prevent the marine from knowing which was which. No skulk moved at 1 mile per hour and exploded after a tot number of seconds, soooo... fail.

lmao wat a stupid little thing! but i bet it was effective with battle gorges...i mean u cud just spam a few of them them towards a marine and make a quick getaway.
Old school battle gorge ftw! My favorite thing was to web a marine (webs were invisible back then) and then sick as many babblers as possible on him ... they would climb up on him, devour, then splode! Ahh... the good ol days!
Alright my first loller-mod for NS2 is gonna be adding some kind of babbler back into the game :P I never got to play with them (or never noticed them) back in the day so I really want to try it out.

Took like a couple of bullets only. And no, a babbler kill was more on par with death by parasite. With leap at least you're trying to kill your target.

Keep in mind we were all noobs back then... Marines would crap themselves and try to run away more than they would shoot back.
This was a time when most skulks didnt really "get" wall-walking, and would mostly use it by accident while running away, rather than for actual ambushing/hiding/etc. Gorges were insanely popular mostly because they were the only ones that had a ranged weapon, so they made sense to all the day of defeat & counter-strike refugees who were too slow to make it onto the marine team before it filled up.
