The maps in NS2 should have alot of things you can interact with. Blast doors that marines can lock with a security code and the aliens are stuck on the other side until a onos destroys the door (rendering it useless) or the infection has spread to that area and the door opens. Lifts should also be disabled when the area gets infected. Some "hard points" should have a control room that you can use to control cameras, doors, lifts etc in that area. The commander should also have the ability to "lock down" a area (under his control) to prevent spreading of the infection. Also a anti-infection building (that spreads some sort of anti infection gas) should be added.
Remember that this is a suggestion and i know it sounds like "Add this or die!!!" but that is the way i write. Please reply with ideas, edits, possible problems, how imba/ninja/1337 I am and maybe that this is the most retarded idea in the forum.

2nd, doors can be weldered, but i guess that depends on the mapper as well.
"Anti Infection" won't happen, as the creep is a colony of living bacteria and is overwhelming the present nanites.
If the flamethrower is in, guess what it's good for ;)
I'd like to see a conquest type map mode with turrets already built into the map, and the marines trying to direct electricity effectively to power up and defend certain areas. Where removal of electricity from other areas, does wierd things like stop lifesupport... or stop gravity :P ... or ya... turn off the lights and apparently marines from the future don't have NVGs lol.
My point is that this game would kill me by being so epic, if it got a bunch of cool stuff. Like a Defense Gamemode or already placed turrets needing power.
Interactive environments is one of the things many players look for. Like Fallout 3 with its unique dialog system and "shoot anyone you like" rule. And I don't think HL2 would have been HUGE without the Gravity gun and movable props.
And btw if there is any typos in this text blame the Firefox US English spelling program (grammar errors you can blame me for)
From a technology standpoint, I would be surprised (but not disappointed) if their engine didn't support modern physics.
We need to make a collection of all the good ideas we want in the game into one thread and give it to the devs. Since there are so many kainzer and poonzer topics floating around w/ ###### suggestions.

Sadly, poonzer's ideas are objectively better than yours. This idea is terrible.
als opooner lets turne them of ok????

Yeah because skulks with jetpacks is just genius. >.<
Dont forget the "get 5 JP's and make your Onos fly" part of it, or the "SUPA ONOS JUMP POWA!"
I ######ed and moaned(in a good way) about how smexyfully I loved Weld points, and interactivity of the map with players, LUA will allow us to do ANYTHING their engine can show, which, by the looks of it, is about every dam-n thing
I want to see that suggestion

I didn't mean that NS2 would be better without modern physics, I meant that NS2 needs something exclusive, new or awesome. Source was unbelievably good in the eyes of people who had played with the old engine. I almost died of a epic feeling the first time I saw the graphics in HL2. UWE did a great job on NS, but I don't want a copy of that game with better models. People want new stuff, and it's UWEs job to bring it. And from what I have seen so far they have done a great job.
