HMG idea

I had an idea for the HMG, which I got from watching Aliens (1986) by James Cameron.

What if the HMG is mounted onto a robotic arm that connects to a frame that runs around the marine's waist.

The marine would still hold and operate the HMG but the additional robotic arm would provide support, making it easier to manage its weight. As well, the robotic arm would provide stabilization (much like a steadicam) allowing for more pinpoint accuracy.

If you want, the whole setup could come with a backpack that feeds ammo into the weapon.

It would also look mega cool.

    The HMG and the LMG are gone in favor of a new "MG".

    I think it's pretty safe to assume that the new high powered, heavy hitting weapon is the mini gun, which almost sound like it will be mounted on the heavy armor at this point. That last bit's mostly speculation, though.

    really? so the MG in the marine reveal pics is replacing both the LMG and the MG? Does that mean its going to be upgradeable?

    I haven't heard anyone use MG for the minigun yet. I'd always heard MG = LMG and minigun = minigun.

    Assault Rifle = MG (MachineGun)
    The other one is the Minigun

    Most probably (I'm guessing) the Minigun will be attached to the exoskeleton with some kind of arm, like a camera arm, with non or just a minimum movement (at least for now). So, if you change guns to keep shooting, the minigun will stay there.
    Or, like other games, it will be hidden on gun change, and no arm, no nothing, just attached to the exoskeleton arm.
