What will happen on October 31st, 2009? It is an important date in NS history, and the release of NS2 is drawing ever closer.
Make your predictions, and lay claim to internet prognostication fame so that you may bask in the glory... You said it here first.
Is it the NS2 Tech Release?
Alpha Release?
Lerk, Fade, Heavy Armor reveal?
Flamethrower reveal?
Gameplay footage?

Ever.
(I think there will be multiple reveals around and on halloween).
I'm not expecting anything really.
:/
There will be pictures of the whole UWE studio dressed up and trick or treating, too.
But there will likely be some media.
makes me wonder why you people bother hanging around if you already have such low expectations. It's like you people want it to fail, just so you can be all ... "See, told you!"
I don't expect to see anything. I however wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort or release. Either something playable or tools (for mapping, or what ever).
Though, what I AM expecting to see is a bunch of threads similar to "The Devs TOLD us Oct 31st!"
But even if not I can wait.... need to upgrade my pc anyways, I think xD
Although it has been ages, I am still curious as to what the BUS might have been / is going to be.

My words exactly! I think (s)he's just trolling around, but I can't understand these negative creeps in general: they're not helping anything by being like a bear who's been shot up in the arse. Getting a little off-topic here, but imo people are too much like they're "supposed to be" because of the music they listen or whatever.
Damn kids and their rap dancing.
I'm still hoping for the microwave 'reveal'.

Would be awesome!
I shell have the picture on my desktop! =)
That or encourage everyone to play NS1 for the day.
When many of those disappointing news items that I listed were released, I defended the devs, hoping that it was all for the best. But as they piled on one thing after another, it finally broke my confidence in them and in NS2. I'm no longer optimistic like I used to be. It's not a matter of personality, or of whining, or trolling. I'm just genuinely disappointed. I really do hope that there's a big october reveal that will change my opinion back and instill confidence again.
On a lighter note im really hoping for a peek in at the NS2TR so we can get a head start on the modding business.

That's exactly what I thought from the thread title as well...
In response to the OP:
UWE will roll out the fade reveal, but it will be dressed in a low-budget Halloween costume (a ghost, most likely)
A few hours later this link will be posted: http://www.lua.org/
Look at the bright side... Windows 7 is released.
And this might be an interesting tidbit but i've been monitoring my SOUTHBRIDGE and GPU temperatures and when trying Vista, i've noticed my GPU never going below 100 degrees farenheit (when just viewing the windows desktop... no actual work being done), and the bridge chip never goes below 140 degrees.
However, when i was using Windows 7 on the same computer... the bridge thing was starting at 127 degrees and the videocard could actually idle in the 80-90 degree range!
Ya so despite the fact that Windows 7 appears visually to just be Vista with no DreamScene feature and an ugly taskbar... it does run cooler.
EDIT: hmm i don't know wtf was happening when i saw vista do that overheat (when not actually doing anything)... but apparently the temperatures stabilized after a couple of restarts. That's all the reason i need to modify my bios to slic 2.1 and get windows 7 ultimate retails loaded xD
