I'm not a big fan of the idea. The first thing that comes to mind is "Aah gross I touched it!" It's kind of weird for a human to be punching an Alien. I'd rather stab it or taze it to be honest.
Ah yeah that makes more sense. Though I'm kinda skeptical about giving marines strong melee attacks. Even in NS1 I really hate it when you duel someone and you got him out of ammo and you got 20 hp left and he knifes you when you feel you had won the battle.
I must say I support the idea after some thinking, but only if it's made in the spirit of the Space Hulk power punch (not sure if they actually call it that). Space Marine Terminator is able to punch a Genestealer when in close contact, but it only works like 1/10 times. If it works, the Genestealer dies instantly. If it doesn't work, well, needless to say what happens. Now, I'm not saying that it should implemented exactly like this but I certainly don't want to see marines punch-rushing either! Maybe it'd deal some damage but it's main effect would be stun or something like that.

It just means they will enable the skulk ragdoll if you get a killing blow on it, so it'll go flying due to the physics.
hahaha that would actually be an awesome kind of trade off.
If you score a hit you get a nice punch/hit sound and the enemy gets knocked off, but if you miss and punch a wall or something (or onos :O) then you get a nice *CrUnCh* sound and your guy shakes out his hand in pain. So if you hit something non-squishy you get a little 0.5 sec penalty. Makes it more of a last ditch kind of ability.

I like the sound of that...maybe something that lasts 10 seconds with a 20-30 second charge time (and if it gets the lethal hit on a skulk, it jumps into the ceiling :P)

i'm normally againt melee for the marines, but this could be very cool - with the appropriate balancing of course :)

This means to me than you have to punch a skulk, and then when you kill it(on kill) it sends it flying against the wall?
You hit the skulks and then if you kill it and then you send it flying into the wall
