<div class="IPBDescription">Will NS2 support Voice Chat like NS1?</div>Just want so ask, if NS2 will have a Voice Chat like NS1 (Half-Life), and if "yes", what Quality (Codec)?

What about the TeamSpeak3 SDK?

Yes, I read in one of the interviews that they are using steamworks which includes voice.

It would be nice if they used something a little bit higher quality than the default Steam codec.

    This.

The default steam codec sounds nice sometimes, but well..
Overall It's actually quite crappy, atleast compared to skype or ventrilo, teamspeak or mumble.

So if It's possible, then try to put the quality priority on top level!
(But no need for excessive ammounts... talking about streaming-flac or something, totally useless. x)

There are like 3 Steam voice codecs of varying quality. Make sure your server is using the right one.

I still don't understand why ENSL use ventrilo as ingame voice chat is very good.

I believe having voice as an in-game solution is pretty much required nowadays. We're still at a place where expecting random newbies to have or acquire a third-party solution isn't practical.

If they use steamworks, how will this impact a Linux client? Perhaps put some more pressure to have STEAM for Linux?
