Is the liberal hype dying down?

Since the 2008 election, do you think the hype and support in terms of mass voting and interest of "young people" is declining and do you think Obama will get a record turnout and support in 2012? Do you think in 2012, the hype and record turnout factor for young voters will not be as big as in 2008? Is it possible Obama will he loose if the young voters turnout returns to previous levels like in 2004 or 2000?

Clearly, making threads about your concerns on an obscure indie video game development forum is what America needs to be saved.

    I admire your patriotism.

Whether young people turn out in force to vote for Obama again depends more on what happens between now and 2012 than on anything else. It would be ludicrous to make predictions in one way or another at this juncture. We haven't had midterms yet, we don't know what's happening with health care, we haven't completed the drawdown in Iraq, the future of Afghanistan is up in the air, peace in the Middle East appears to be disappearing with Israel's resumed settlement building and Abbas' threat to resign, and so on. There is no way to know. We don't even know if Obama will run again. You're premature by a number of years.

I think Obama smiles like The Smiler in Transmetropolitan, who in turn was based (visually) partly on The Joker.

    This has always disturbed me.

Wouldn't the world end by 2012? So this discussion is void.

Palin seems to be indicating that she won't run for president in 2012, so it seems unlikely the world will end.

Then again, she *did* just release the autobiography that all presidential candidates seem to need...

Hehe, I'm a Canadian who lived in the US for almost a year and am now back in Canada.

Got H1N1 about 2 weeks ago, and I'm asthmatic so I'm in one of the risk groups. So you know what I did?

Walked into Emergency, got processed, sent to Urgent Care, saw a doc who did a full check up, got chest x-rays, saw the doc again. He said it was H1N1 but that my rather subdued asthma (I mostly grew out of it) meant I would be fine and my lungs were good, so I should just go home and don't plan on leaving for a week. The whole hospital trip took about 2 hours.

    Cost? Absolutely nothing.

What do you think that would have cost in the US? I'd guess around $500, at least.

Maybe $100, and you'd probably get a course of free sample antibiotics or something. Doctors love to give those out... almost like they get a commission for it.

So you think healthcare should be free by raising taxes for everybody? Or do you think healthcare should be free by raising taxes for the wealthy? How do you think we should pay for universal healthcare? Why doesn't Obama support the purchase of health insurance "accross state lines" in order to promote competition and capitolism?

Raising taxes, of course. Because it would remove a HUGE burden on both individuals and especially on employers. How do you think it would benefit your company if the majority of employers no longer had the extra burden of $300-$1000 a month to pay for their share of medical insurance? And if the systems of, well, basically every other first-world nation were to be implemented, taxes would only be raised by about half the amount of that burden (and could be raised not just in income or sales tax but in corporate tax or many other areas so businesses still pay a share).

Besides, it's not like there aren't ample examples to look at. It's just that some in your media are ridiculously biased. They also happen to be the ones who keep saying America Has The Best Healthcare System In The World, when it's blatantly false.
