That's funny. I read the OP then went off to find some screen shots of Pandorum. None of the shots I found were focused on the environment, however, I found the same video as you ( <a href="http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi58393113/" target="_blank">http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi58393113/</a> ) and was going to post it.

Hehe, I bought Dead Space with the awesome steam 1-day deal for $15 the other day, solely to run around it taking screencaps. Everything about that game's visuals is phenomenal. Come to think of it as far as entertainment goes, the first Resident Evil movie, since it is placed in that underground facility, might inspire someone wanting to mess around with Spark as well. What was it called, The Hive? Oh, and another movie for living in a sort of space station enviroment, The Island, that re-purposed missile silo the clones live in with other realizing it might inspire someone too.
Or maybe it isn't a strictly moving picture medium that will inspire. May I suggest fictional novels by the author Matt Reilly?
At the very least, I hope anyone looking to this thread at least gets to look at (or is reminded of when they did) or read a fun story, even if it isn't what inspires their experiments with Spark.
I was only critiquing Daxx's pictures, not the idea of getting inspiration from realism. If someone else finds them inspiring/useful, that's good, they've done their job. I'm just not a fan because they don't show any sort of detail at the room level (as I've stated before), but no need to derail the thread any more over a couple pics. Here are a few real pictures...

lots of other stuff there too but also quite a lot of dark scifi interiour concepts.
I found a bunch of cool concepts at deviantart.com; hopefully some people will be inspired by these. These pictures aren’t necessarily about, “Could this picture be a real room in my map?†It’s about getting inspiration. Look at the architecture, shapes, corners and walls, textures, wires, prop placement potential etc.

I personally think the best concept art for NS is done by a guy called 'sparth'. Please for the love of god someone style an NS2 map from some of these beauties (eyes on you Mendasp :P )! There are hundreds in his archive ( <a href="http://www.sparth.com/gallery/" target="_blank">http://www.sparth.com/gallery/</a> ).
I'd hate to see this thread die after only 3 pages so i'll keep updating it with what i find.

Your set was my favorite up to that point. Just felt the need to tell you to pay to heed to -Diesel- shortminded comments. I especially like 1, 3 and 4. That mess of tubes, the underside of the bridge, and the concave building... I'd really like to see some rooms in NS2 inspired from those pics. -Diesel- the keyword there is inspired. Play nice now.

this is from a game called dark sector originally it was to be a space sci fi, this trailer is before they ruined it by setting it on earth in russia instead of space station and making it an action game instead of sci-fi stealth.
'Hybridclaw' dude there is no need to post massive sized images. Thumbnails that link to the full size image preferably. And please stop replying to someone and quoting with their 5-10+ images.

I'v loving these photos.. I always have trouble starting. This gives a good way to start and it doesn't take long till I branch off into a completely different direction.
Personally I think that Discovery Channel's Dirty Jobs has had some good visuals. They aren't very Sci-Fi-y but I like the realistic grit.
This is the inside of the Macinaw Bridge in Michigan:
This is the entrance to the tower cells. The towers are made of 5000 individual little cells with little tiny ports into each other in a 3d grid. <img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/bridge1a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Below is a view through several of the cells. I like the numerous huge rivets. <img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/bridge5a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Below is the entrance to a coal mine. Notice the tunnel height. Also, the train "engine" in the foreground has some cool visual features. <img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/coalmine4a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
This is the end of the mine where they're digging. <img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/coalmine6a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Brick lined sewer. Interesting silhouette shape. It's like an inflated balloon. Actually there is a ditch down the middle of the bottom but the fluids are too deep. <img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/sewer2a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Entrance to a wine cave. I like the very industrial feel. There's a temporary air vent line coming out the top left. The concrete surfaces aren't quite done and their rebar is showing. <img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/winecave1a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Below is inside the wine tunnel. The machine is a roadheader <a href="http://images.google.com/images?q=roadheader" target="_blank">(img search)</a> which digs the tunnel. It zooms along at like 1/2 mph. <img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/winecave3a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

(even though they aren't pictures of space stations)<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I don't have many good pictures myself, I just thought Daxx had a good idea with his pictures. Reality is where all the ideas for fiction come from. But to not make this a completely derailed post, here are a few of the random pictures I find inspiring. (even though they aren't pictures of space stations)

This is the inside of the Macinaw Bridge in Michigan:
This is the entrance to the tower cells. The towers are made of 5000 individual little cells with little tiny ports into each other in a 3d grid.
<img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/bridge1a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Below is a view through several of the cells. I like the numerous huge rivets.
<img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/bridge5a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Below is the entrance to a coal mine. Notice the tunnel height. Also, the train "engine" in the foreground has some cool visual features.
<img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/coalmine4a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
This is the end of the mine where they're digging.
<img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/coalmine6a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Brick lined sewer. Interesting silhouette shape. It's like an inflated balloon. Actually there is a ditch down the middle of the bottom but the fluids are too deep.
<img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/sewer2a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Entrance to a wine cave. I like the very industrial feel. There's a temporary air vent line coming out the top left. The concrete surfaces aren't quite done and their rebar is showing.
<img src="http://img.techpowerup.org/100218/winecave1a.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Below is inside the wine tunnel. The machine is a roadheader <a href="http://images.google.com/images?q=roadheader" target="_blank">(img search)</a> which digs the tunnel. It zooms along at like 1/2 mph.
