Why, when I translate a section of geometry it offsets from the grid? I've forced myself to map in a unit of 8, and the editor still offsets the section I'm translating so that it will not align back with the grid.

Do you only have geometry selected? When you have geometry + lights or props selected the move gizmo tends to get off grid, though it usually doesn't happen if I'm only selecting geometry...

I noticed the combination of props and geometry, but this still happens if you select multiple sections of just plain geometry. I found that the scale tool will force it back in, then you just scale it back to the proper size. Really slows things down though.
Also, could we get a replace all tool for texturing?

Radeon 9600 isn't gonna run NS2 anyway, so hurf. Also you can get a used AGP card, like X850 or 6800 or even X1950 for a few dozen bucks. Probably won't run NS2 decently either, but at least they are 5 times faster than R9600.
Just wanted to mention that since this patch, emissive maps for textures doesn't show in editor but they do in the viewer. No problems with emissive maps on props though.
Also, I can't tell if it is from this new patch but it seems that when i have the editor opened already and I'm creating a new texture (making a new build) they don't show up in the editor's texture browser until I re-run it but they do update once they have been created primarily.
- But I ll not go mapping until "Layers" works on surfaces/lines. I want to hide some of drawings, and next i want to work on visible ones.
- And what about "Trace Builder" option which asks in the startup. If it is on you can watch mapper statics (username, map size, number of polygons - lights, work time etc.). And there may be some checks to help you (yellow problem (yes/no), full cpu load, crash etc.)
- Still no origin point (0,0,0), don't we need that ?
- There is only Editor shortcut in start menu. What about Builder, Viewer etc. ?
- Please start Editor in its default factory settings which makes views, zoom useable (reset cam position, zoom etc.) or a menu to factoy visible settings.
Those are only some of things in my mind that i want to see.

Hm, lots of props has just mysteriously dissappeared from one of my more inspired rooms. I've no idea what happened but I was a bit dissapointed as it took me a while to create :<
Also, it's lagging much more now even in unlit mode. Again, no idea why.
Other than that, I like the update. I like the new nifty functions. Especially flipping.

Hm, just did a room and messed about for an hour. And after closing down spark (Making sure it's saved) and then reloading it after a few minutes again -all- the props in the room were gone. Geometry was still fine but the props just disappeared. I posted earlier that this happened on another map of mine but I can see now that it wasn't an isolated case.
I wonder if anyone else has come across this? (It's not a crash. Just props dissapearing when you load a map up again after closing it down.)

Have you tried waiting a little while? It can sometimes take a little time for the props to load up, especially if you have a lot of them.

@Mangopork. IANAE but Microsoft Visual 2005 C++ Redistributable sounds very old. I wouldn't recommend switching without an expert's opinion, but a quick google seems to indicate the most current one is 2008 SP1. Hopefully someone who knows these things better can confirm/deny this assumption.
Metro- I've had that happen, it could be a corrupted file or memory problem. I have found to save often and save multiply versions. Are you sure they are not in a layer?
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Have you tried waiting a little while? It can sometimes take a little time for the props to load up, especially if you have a lot of them.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Absolutely. That's not the problem. Everything loads just fine. The props just aren't there. (This is true for a map created in an older version of Spark.)
While trying to recreate the bug once more I noticed that the props do not actually disappear if placed with the current version of Spark. In the new test-room I created they are simply not visible. (And before you ask- they're NOT in a layer. I double checked.)
Here's a screenshot of it. I target the props by filtering out everything but props and then targetting everything.
I can actually see them when they're marked. But only the contures. Very strange :s
This only happens when I load the editor after saving and quitting.
Edit: Actually it is the same bug as on a map where props were placed in an older version of Spark. It's just that in those maps I can't even see the contures of the props. I noticed that they are indeed there by targeting them with the move tool and seeing the move-controls pop up where the props are supposed to be. They are indeed there, just not at all visible.
Comments
I don't see them in the update notes - but I've never noticed them on the bottom before - yay!!!

Nice, but it still requires fixing the textures. Well we can't have everything in one update :P
