Why Why?
Anyway my big problem is not the hive counter thing in a match which beeps and kills all the aliens. The problem I have is that you will still lose the match if you have a hive "being" built. If your last hive is destroyed while you are building a second hive then the aliens will still lose. I don't like this **obscenity**. I had a chance too get a hive back up yesterday after the last hive was destroyed and I had just placed a hive and it was filling up and we still lost. The one thing I hate about this is the marine players ranting and **obscenity** the alien players in general off by saying "WE STILL WIN" when we destroy their CC and main base and spawn portals. "SO WHAT WE STILL WIN" because our seige istaking out your hive and you will die before you can make another one.
Seriosly Come ****in on, this is ridiculous. The game should end for marines as well if the CC is destroyed. But I am more upset by the fact that when the last hive is destroyed and I am building the next hive the aliens are still extinguished.

I'm still of the opinion that the no-hive-kill should be nixed, considering the Marines can do similar if they hide a spare CC in a vent somewhere. Aliens destroy everything, CC is built, Observatory is built, new CC is dropped in Marine base, Distress Beacon goes off. Marines build base, get turrets up, now have two bases of operations.
If ANYTHING, the *Marines* should have the auto-kill if their CC and spawn portals are killed. THEY can't build anything at that point. THEY can't spawn back in, when the situation looks hopeless, without a spare CC sitting somewhere. Aliens... any Alien can switch to Gorge and build a Hive, if they're good enough.
I was a gorge, marines got lucky and took out our first and only hive. Everybody died except for me because I was next to some D chambers. And since everybody was dead, I was receiving LOTS of resources at a time. When I just about neared death, I got 80+ resources and built the hive. As the hive started building, the counter stopped. If you are having problems with the counter going on while a hive is being built, then there is a problem with the server.
Damn, I almost had that have fully up too, hehe.
And then I was slain.
This was before I really understood how the new timer worked, so needless to say I was a little surprised. Now, I respect every decision to experiment that Flayra makes. But, I feel something is a little wrong with this. It seems to encourage marine early-game rushing, and alien early-game camping, which interestingly enough is essentially the opposite of how it was before.
Perhaps tone Teh Timre down a little by making it not count down until only ONE alien is left, and no hive? This would better accomplish the goal of preventing a single camping player. Of course, this is also true for the marines--if there is only one marine left and no spawn portals or CC, the countdown can be activated.
That's a good idea.
I do not like the way it is now; it gives far too much info to the marines and far too little time for the kharaa to recover. Something should be changed, yes, on this I agree with you.
It's my suggestion we add a few minutes of suspense after the last hive is gone, leaving the Frontiersmen doubting it really was the last hive and offering the Kharaa a chance to recoup. The suspense ends for the Frontiersmen either with a sigh-releasing 'beep-beep-beep' or a scream for backup.
I suggest we add the same thing for the Frontiersman, a few minutes after their Command Central and Infantry Portals are gone Kharaa will either get the sigh-releasing 'beep-beep-beep' or realize they've overlooked a CC somewhere which might just turn the tide of the battle.
what the hell. that wont get them a win, marines can get jetpacks, find, and finish them off in not a lot of time.

Marines would not have a vote.

good idea. but it would have to be an auto popup asking yes or no coming every two minutes, since the majority of people do not read manuals completely and wouldnt know how to vote.
