<div class="IPBDescription">Sucking Up.</div>Thanks for keeping my favorite mod from Half-Life 1 alive (sort of)! I had a few questions about the game itself; Do you have an idea how many maps are going to be in the game at release? Are the rounds gonna be focused on long-siege based rounds or more fast paced?
Can't wait for the NS2 and as a thanks I'll preoder the special edition.

Obviously that isnt ideal but it was a pretty cool experience.
UWE does plan on creating maps, however, the exact amount is unknown. They will also rely on community submissions. I would expect two, three, or at most four maps to be created by UWE while the rest that will ship with NS2 will be from the community.
I know there will be multiple stages of release - Alpha, Beta, Retail - during each of those as well as post-launch UW plan to add some new maps as well as borrow heavily from the community.
The rounds are planned to come around faster, but apparently you can control their length with either some easy modding or some server options.

I love long NS games as well, and I remember when it was first released, they would go on for an hour or more easy.
Those long wins really felt like a team effort.

Yep felt like you really had to focus on strategy and a tid bit of luck!
Preordered the special edition :D Can't wait.
I dig the idea of community involvement with the mapping; some of the best maps in ns1 were community maps.
Don't say something like that or the "compet's" will eat you.
Compets, what be that? Anyway a few of the community maps became official or so I remember :P lol
To this day I'm still eating my words over tanith.
That's what I heard though :X
