It would be cool to have an autographed copy, but I don't think they are planning on actually making boxes. I think the plan is that of total online distribution.
Maybe down the road they'd try to get it on the shelves but I think they will be far more profitable off the shelves and without a publisher taking a cut, manufacturing costs, etc (and I think they know this).

max and cory...are...also awesome.. i take a cory edition.. with an awesome 300 page NS art book (natural selection - genesis) ... with the max edition comes only a printed game manual written in lua only a coder could understand that D: ... hell..even the pictures on the box are done in ascii.
yah...and with the matt edition you just get some textured 3d studio max model of the ns2 box.....
