<div class="IPBDescription">Can't hear people anymore...</div> Here's a strange problem that I can't figure out how to fix. I've been playing NS for about a week now and up till now I have been able to use voice chat and hear people. But for the last few days it loads up saying a dll is in use and when ever anyone talks in game all I get is beeping noises. The weird thing is that it only does this in NS, I can hear fine in all other mods. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
Edit: Here is the error I get,
Unable to initalize DirectSoundCapture. Trying waveIn.MMSYSTEM004 The Specified device is already in use.
Unable to initalize wave input.
Not sure is this has anything to do with the sound but I also get this:
Tracker Error: TrackerUI.dll invalid
I have nothing running but NS so I don't know how the sound could be in use.

Sometimes they pick up the sound and than it don't work in half-life.
Any one... this is really a problem especially when I have to try and explain to every one in every game I join so they won't talk to me on voice comm because I can't here them and then they just forget in about 5 minuets any way so I have to tell them that I can't hear any one all over again.
P.S. Sorry for bumping but I really want to get this fixed and if you need more information look at my previous post for a link to my thread on this same problem or just ask.
What kinda soundcard do you have?
If you don't have a very old 1 make sure your card is running full duplex
It gives that kinda error if it's in use already, a half duplex card can do only 1 thing at the time a full duplex card can do multiple things at the same time.
I did all kinds of things and here's how I solved it:
I put my binds, and binds only, into config.cfg. I put all my aliases and numerical settings into autoexec.cfg. I then right clicked both and made then "read-only".
My theory is that somewhere along the line NS writes some improper settings into your config.cfg file. Making it read-only keeps NS from messing with it.
Again, that worked for me. I have no idea exactly which setting it was, or why it got messed up in the first place.
