Graphic Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">Flickering walls</div> I've been having some rather strange graphic problems playing Natural Selection. Every once in a while I get into a position where some walls flicker out of existence, or all the textures go black. I tried reinstalling Half-Life and NS a couple times to see if that would solve the problem (as that seems to be a common suggestion for fixing graphic glitches). Everything works fine in a Half-Life game, but in a Natural Selection games it will happen every time in certain parts of certain maps. ns_tanith is the major culprit, as when I walk out the halls from the marine base, all the textures go black, so I can't make out what's wall and what is a doorway (though coming out on the right side of the base in eclipse I can manage to get walls to flash in and out if I walk right). This only happens in a few instances, and I can generally play the game around these problems, but I'd really like to get them sorted out. It could be a common Half-Life bug, but I only reinstalled it this past week to play NS, and haven't been online with it for a few years.

I'm running XP on a P3 700, 382MB SDRAM with a Geforce 2 MX (using the 4.72 drivers) Any help that someone might be able to supply would be most appreciated.

Klaxon.

I would say try another driver for your videocard.

    BUMP!

Yeah, exactly the same problem with me...also on maps where the "outside sky/space" is visible that becomes blurry; as in it blurs depending on the direction you look in, kinda like a bleeding effect.

Anyway, this problem only started happening after i upgraded my CPU/Mobo and my OS to WinXP, didn't used to happen with ME, thing is, i'm using the same Detonator drivers as before :\

    Ak.

I had this same problem when I upgraded my GF4 Ti4200 to Detonator 41.09 drivers. I fixed it by switching my video mode from direct3d to opengl. Everything works just fine now.

Make sure you're using opengl and if you're overclocking your video card, try putting it back to factory for awhile. I overclock at times and I've seen texture strangeness like you describe.
